Hadn't even thought of that.

As much as that is crazy... it works.

Light Yagami wasn't wronged by those in charge, as far as I know, and Lelouch's age doesn't match. I know he can age and stuff, but
as a character he doesn't (except maybe in some freaky fan fiction). Now that I think about it, Light doesn't either.
Can't say it wouldn't be awesome, though.

And yes, my first guess was Batman. Just because Rule Of Cool. I don't know about "being wronged" either, though - not much of a comic book geek.

Just needed to point out a few things
1. Light was of college age. If he passed into our world he might look a bit more normal
2.

Spoilers-Light was defeated by Near and the other police-Spoiler
3. His twisted best friend also pretty much ended him
4. If I saw Ledlouch in real life he would probably be about 6'2 going off the anime, I could mistake him for older than he is.

1. Well, maybe. Still a pretty weak hypothesis.
2. Doesn't count as "wronged". They were enemies, and he suffered a conventional defeat.
3. If you mean Ryuk... No, I don't think he was a friend. Besides, he was pretty open about his intentions. If you mean Mikami, he just failed.
4. There is not a single Bishonen that I'd qualify as "in his thirties" by his appearance.

This. This is the reason I was just screwing around when I said that. Unfortunately, sad as it is, it isn't Light
or Lelouch.

We have a new post, people! Just read through it and I've got some good info this time. Appears that the POI was born in London, and was likely from a work set at least a few years in the past. Also, whatever work he came from, it had a lot of political overtones. Probably mid to far left ones, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Possibly V from V for Vendetta then? Don't know much about the mythos for that, but it was supposed to be in England and there was that crappy, Anvilicious movie made for it a while back....

My thought was V, too - Small Reference Pools... However, at least two objections to that:
1. V, as far as I'm concerned, is badly scarred after his escape.
2. He is more cryptic, with eloquent speech patterns.
Both are pretty distinct - I'm sure the psychiatrist would mention at least one of them.
Just to be precise - I mean the film adaptation. I still haven't got to read the comic, even though I have a copy downloaded.

Probably. Though, like I said, I don't know anything about the series. Also, upon further consideration, the work in question probably has far left or anarchist politics. As far as I know, the original V was kinda anarchist in nature, and the movie pissed all of the V fans off cause they started using Strawman Politics and turned it in to a radical left winger thing. That's... really about as much as I know.

doesn't V take place in the future though. He talks like nothing has changed since his last involvement in politics, so I imagine he wouldn't be saying that if he entered a reality that was further in the past than his fictional world.

Gonna put this here aswell. Comment on article from MikeCharlie.
"I don’t think he’s an anti hero. Call me crazy, but I think he reminds me of a certain protagonist from a certain post-apicalyptic science fiction book that I am certain was not written by Dr. Huxley.
In fact, some people following this blog may have even been born on this “date.”"
Also, MikeCharlie is MC in the phonetic alphabet. That's probably unimportant but, ya never know.

I think that guy has warranted himself a place in the timeline. My mind is occupied with Don Quixote, though. Maybe I'll think about it later.
What did he mean by "that date"?

Dunno, but I can't find a book like this. I'm sure this is a clue that's been given to us though.
I would guess it's named after a day or something.

If we take "totally not Huxley" at face value, then "1984" might be the answer. It is a date, and some of us may have been born that year. Still doesn't make sense, though.

I wouldn't really call 1984 sci-fi.
The Huxley thing confuses the hell out of me.
EDIT: Just gonna point out "Charlie Mike" means continue mission. So it could be that or "MC."

1984 is classified under the original definition of Sci-fi. It is only in recent times that people have been changing the definition to be more along the lines of "Futuristic space tech".

My gut says the patient is Robin Hood. It would fit with the "classic British characters" theme. Anyone more educated about him able to confirm?

Not quite getting a Robin Hood vibe from him. I think it's more likely he is from the 1900s, as some of his comments, such as the one about fast food, seem similar to many (in)famous books in that era, and seem to imply he looks at things from a perspective similar to the radicals of that time.

I'm now wondering if he's from The Jungle. I've never read it, so I can't say anything with confidence, but what I'm hearing now is lining up with what I remember hearing about that book.

Amusing that we thought of the same book, for the same reasons. That was actually my very first reaction, before I even finished the blog post. As I think about it, it becomes more and more likely.

What's this book about, anyway? Sounds interesting, but at the same time I'm trying not to equate it to the Jungle Book.

It was intended as a gigantic, Anvilicious, socialist political tract, told in an allegory via some poor downtrodden German (EDIT: OK, they were Lithuanian. Whatever.) worker family in a Chicago meat packing plant in the 1900s. In a moment of hilarious irony, the entire world ignored the author's politics in favor of being disgusted by the unhygienic methods used in the meat industry, and directly led to the creation of the FDA.

I wonder how much of the world as we know it has been created from people looking in the wrong direction?

The issue with the book being the answer is, of course, that the main characters are Lithuanian. There is a possibility that the main character himself could have been born in London though, because that is the only thing that doesn't perfectly match. I'ma go wiki walk. Be back sometime.
EDIT: That was quick. Yea, I don't think it's him. The London thing just does not match up.
