You'll have to make do with a handbag. It's a women's boutique. (wonder what the cat's doing there. Is he a she?)

Could it mean mad as in busy? I'll try to look up avenues in NYC that are busy to see if that helps.

That sounds like a dead end. Admittedly I don't live in NY, but from my experience, they're all busy, all the time.

Hey, someone clip the Jungian Archetypes threat from Joan's messages and show it to Holmes. See if it rings a bell--if it does, Moriarty's our man. If not, then we should look elsewhere.

I think it could be Third Avenue we're looking for. 797 Third Avenue is a 'high-end steakhouse' and so you may require a 'tie' for it. Also I found that this week "Realized that over half of Third Avenue surface parking had been closed" and well people were understandably 'mad' about it.

Well... there's not much else I can find.

Edit: Okay Madison Avenue was wrong. He did actually "raid" the woman's boutique there with no luck.

He's thinking the Mind Your Duty part is important to the riddle now. Any ideas?

Edit: we had the wrong street number because we didn't factor in NY sales tax.

Anyone know what it is? Otherwise I'll check out Mr Google.

Double edit: Our new street address should be 869.

No luck so far, I assume it has to be a place where you have to wear formal clothes, due to the 'tie' bit.

Got it-- one number off due to rounding in taxes issue.

867 Madison Ave, NY is a Ralph Lauren store-- this MUST be it.

Anything about "the fourth" in there?

Entrance, perhaps? It looks like there are a number of doors.
(He could always brute-force it by looking under the mat or whatever at each entrance, though that may attract some suspicion.)
In any case, we've got until tomorrow to mull that part over.

Holmes wrote:And it is useless to go back, since I’m sure by now the shops are closed.

Tomorrow, however!

Well done it's a shame we didn't find it for him to find it today. It looks like quite a large place for Holmes to search through as well.

Edit: Holmes replied, seems to be the right one!

Yes! The address I found him worked!

As for the circle around the horse and the item... ?????

The P.S. is important. The riddle is a riddle pretending to be direct, but is really more vague than the previous ones.
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

This is 25 5th Avenue: http://www.25fifthave.com/

Guess we need to find out how the other clue relates, or if its the first location at all.

The address looks legit. It looks like an apartment building. Maybe this is where Cheshire is? Or Moriarty?

Is it worth pointing out that there should be no apartment 201 there, since the apartments are numbered number-letter (i.e., 1F, 2C, etc.)?

That could be a problem. Perhaps there's a riddle here after all.

Perhaps the circles on the price tag is meant to lead us to the actual apartment number. So what does item type mean? Would that be "suit"?
