Is the horse referring to polo? Since the guy riding the horse is a polo player? And Fine-Check suit... hm...
The wall will fall, if they stay; then we'll fight another day.
Never fear, the tropers here will help the written find their way.

I'm thinking either there's some number we should be associating with "fine-check suit", and horse = H; or "fine-check suit" is maybe F, and there's a number associated with "horse" (chess stuff, anyone?).
On the other hand, why give the number 201 if it isn't relevant at all?

The chess motif might not be a bad idea. Aren't each of the squares labeled with a letter and a number? It could correspond with the apartment number.
If everyone would just agree with me, there would never be any problems.

Or maybe with the blocks in the neighborhood.

I hope not that; let's assume for now that the address is right. It said Black label-- let's assume that means Black's knight. Still two possibilities, but presumably one will be ruled out by being too high?
Someone who knows chess-- what are the letter-number codes for the starting spaces of black's knights?

On a side note it says: "and you can go home".

Is it saying that Holmes can actually go back through the wall? Or just wherever he's staying.

Black nights start on B8 and G8, if I'm counting correctly in my head.

Yeah that's right, images of chessboard have at G8.
I guess the could be the apartment number? But would does #201 mean?

Edit: He may need a numbered code to get in? With #201 being what he needs to put in?

Okay, I just looked up the chessboard layout online.
8 is too high for this building, which means presumably we're looking for the White knight which starts on a black tile-- which, if I did my research right, should be 1G.
Confirmation? And I'll go tell Holmes.

Yeah that's right. I suppose if by "black label fine check" it could refer to the tile then.
Still seems a bit too easy though.

Oh, of course! Especially since "fine CHECK" refers to the pattern on the board.

Aha! I'd been thinking it referred to putting the King in check, which doesn't make much sense because the knight can do that from any square.

Exciting! I Don't think there's much more for us to do now, hopefully he can get her to safety before something happens.

No. The hotel attendant. The one that helped scanned Adam's resume.

Holmes said earlier 'I decided I would post it online, and for this I would like to thank the help of a room servicier and attendant of the hotel, whose name I have learned is Sandy.'

They could be the same, but there's no reason why they couldn't have two different people with the same name.

I have a theory, but I've been afraid to state it before now, but now I'm convinced. Sherlock is dumbing down. Seriously, he missed the sales tax from the one riddle. He's missed several other things, I'm sure. He has barely been able to solve a thing without us. And now, he didn't recognize Cinderella. He's seen her twice before meeting Sandy. We've shown him the video. He couldn't recognize her? This is not characteristic of the real Holmes. This world is changing him like it's changed all the others.

We've discussed this on another thread. Apparently the One Steve Limit doesn't apply in real life. ;)

I don't think he's dumbing down. Holmes usually takes a little while to think things over and collect evidence before he comes to his conclusions - otherwise, the books would all be five pages. The difference is, here he doesn't have all the time in the world to conjecture.
