. . . *Maybe* she and whoever was with her went back through the wall.
But if it was a Cabal member, then that doesn't make sense.
It doesn't really make sense anyway.
More likely something bad happened.

Sounds like it was Don Juan, I think.

Seriously, he missed the sales tax from the one riddle. He's missed several other things, I'm sure. He has barely been able to solve a thing without us. And now, he didn't recognize Cinderella. He's seen her twice before meeting Sandy. We've shown him the video. He couldn't recognize her? This is not characteristic of the real Holmes. This world is changing him like it's changed all the others.
I don't think he's dumbing down. Holmes usually takes a little while to think things over and collect evidence before he comes to his conclusions - otherwise, the books would all be five pages. The difference is, here he doesn't have all the time in the world to conjecture.
The problem with that is that his skills of analyzing people are usually pretty quick. In the stories, he could just glance at somebody out the window for a second, and know exactly who they are, where they've been, where they're going, and what their business is. Here he comes across a woman, talks with her for quite some time, yet he picks up nothing. Maybe his deduction skills don't work so well on fictionals.

So wait, Don Juan is a double-crosser? Is that what we're saying here? Do we have confirmation that he's in NY?

The apartment sounds like it belongs to Moriarty, judging by the math papers.

Yeah she probably thought Don Juan was a charming prince or something like that. Seems strange that he was one following them instead of Moriarty.

Wait, what? No we're saying he was the one who was with her going by the description. Maybe the Cabal wants her or something.

I agree. Moriarty. For the same reasons.

So Don Juan can teleport?

Didn't notice that. It would make more sense.
(They could be working together on this of course)

What evidence have you got that Don Juan was involved, other than a woman being involved?

The description Holmes got from the receptionist fits him, mostly.
...Jesus friggin' christ, NOW what do we do?

I don't have any evidence, just an impression. So we really shouldn't use Don Juan in our theories until we have something more concrete.

Has Holmes been told about Cabel or Moriarty yet? If not we should do so now.

I'm sure both have been mentioned to him, but it couldn't hurt to mention it again at this point.

The description mainly seems to say he was good looking. Doesn't seem like much to go off of. Though, Don Juan is the only Cabal member to be male and good looking. (I've never heard Moriarty described even remotely that way.)

Hows this:
Holmes-
We believe the culprit (or culprits) is a member of a group known as Cabal. The group is contained of four fictionals who wish to remain in our world. We also know that one of the members is someone you know, Professor Moriarty. Though we do not know their reason to have taken Cinderella other than to prehaps get your attention.

Sounds good. If he needs proof, we can show him the PhEeBle chats.

Yes, I think we should show him them anyway, it's good evidence that the Cabal are dangerous.
Question now is: what do they want with Cinderella?

Most likely, they're trying to get other fictionals on side.

From the way Cinderella's disappearance was described, it sounds almost as if she might have gone back to her story.
But that doesn't fit in at all with what the Cabal wants to do. So I don't know what's going on there.

I don't think so, it just sounded like she wasn't forced to leave but went willingly.

Oh God.
We were probably supposed to recognize the connection of the names before now.
Now...
Why do they want Cinderella? Probably because we haven't found her yet; all the other fictionals, to some degree or another, we've built up a level of trust with, so they'll be hesitant to actively work against us even if they want to stay. Cinderella they know we haven't touched, so for that alone she's worthy as an ally. Plus now that we know who they all are, and we can assume they know this, they probably wanted a new recruit whom we can't identify so easily (at least they're foiled on that front).
And on another note, I don't think Holmes needing help with the riddles is a sign he's dumbing down-- I think that's just a property of the game; if there are riddles, we as the players should be solving them. You'll notice whenever we gave him answers Holmes confirmed that he was "thinking along the same lines".
One other possibility about Sandy/Cindy: The only characters we have who could possibly do the teleportation thing are Peter Pan (too far away and random); Mr. A (but he wouldn't do something like this without telling us); and the Cat (no real basis that he can teleport, but no reason why he can't). Think this is worth asking Metaneko about?
