Missing a "know" there mate. However, if Holmes ISN'T employed by Mr. A, we may have trouble because the Cabal obviously wants Holmes around. Also, I'm not liking what would happen if the Witch and Holmes met. At least, if it isn't Played For Laughs. If it IS...

Indeed I am.

And Holmes' is normally pretty quick to reply, it's been a while since I commented.

Holmes has come across the witch's trail. http://londontales.ezblog.twwf.info/?p=132
If that letter wasn't written by one of you when you were vying for the position (confirm/deny please), methinks it might be from someone in the Cabal. Some parts of it correlate rather strongly to the Phantom (he's a genius who has issues appearing in public) but others-- less so. Thoughts?
Why are we even arguing about a dead fictional dude and hypothetical ninjas?

She didn't leave us a physical address to send the letter to. Meaning, no. It's not ours.

I'll look at the letter further, but I do not recognize it as any that was brought up, and the writing style doesn't match anyone active on the forums. I've notified Holmes who he ran into and asked for any information he comes across, though I told him not to get directly involved for the time being.

Since it mentions a flyer on a phone poll, and doesn't seem like any of the letters tropers sent her, and also since she had a physical copy (I mean, she could have printed out an email, but you know) I'm guessing this letter is from someone else, possibly another POI.

I don't see enough details to make this revelation of much use for the time being, though.

It is interesting that the man's charm was highlighted...

I think it was a Cabal member - possibly Steinitz... Less likely, Oberon. They could have wanted to make one of them a campaign manager, and make the Witch a marionetic public figure. Sounds like an Evil Overlord plan. :gurt:

And I am now very happy we decided to take action then. That would NOT have ended well. At least we were one step ahead of them somewhere...

It's not Steinitz, and I doubt it's Oberon. Steinitz wouldn't misspell "pole" and is significantly more suave, and probably would have faked a portfolio. Oberon is not subtle enough.

Uh... That would make an amazing amount of sense... The letter writer certainly speaks like a Wells character...

Okay, so here's my assuming. She had the letter on her (in the folder), does this mean that she actually chose the invisible man for his services after all (along with us)? What purpose would she have to carry the letter around in that folder otherwise, unless she got it in New York or something.

We could tell Sherlock to try investigating the name Griffin (his real name from the book), If he tried researching "Invisible Man" He'd just get movie and book examples most likely.

Once again, the Invisible Man theory makes a startling amount of sense. Should I post it in the comments?

He doesn't appear to fit in with the four people on the comic's front cover but it seems strange if he was to join the Witch if he wasn't part of Cabal or have an otherwise sinister motive.

Should we also send the witch the letter? See what she remembers from it or if she ever met the sender?

The Invisible Man Theory makes sense if we take in account the fact that someone must have given Joe's the letter himself. If there's nothing saying where it came from, the letters must have been sent in another way other than... the normal way.

Agreed. I might say not to directly link to the blog, and you still shouldn't, but chances are she will come through this site and find the post anyway. In any case, we don't need to make that easy for her. Just either link her to the image or copy down the text, saying a friend/associate found the letter.

I'd suggest either copying the image and hosting it on another site, or providing a link directly to the image.

The first, please. She is so far the most capable fictional we have to deal with.
