What do we do with him?

I kind of missed the point that the phone charge was conveniently ignored until now... And mentioned it to him. Kind of a Genre Blind move on my part, but oh well. I'm not sure whether or not the police will trace the stolen iPhone and catch him, but considering that he is walking around for that time, I believe he may be safe (though that scratches my Suspension Of Disbelief quite deeply).
What do we need to do next? Teach him where to get food? Shelter? Goddamn money?
Are we goddamn babysitters for a Fish Out Of Temporal Water now?

Fuck.
Suspension of Disbelief aside... What are we supposed to learn from him? He's not linked to any other event so far... And it looks like mentioning the charger made his iPhone magically run dry. For a guy tweeting non-stop he surely stopped out of nowhere now...

Also, the Spanish remark gives us some insight on the nature of the characters here... Not sure if I should take that to the General Discussion or keep it here, though...

Well, better babysitters than dreaded enemies,I guess... Heck, we can't just leave the poor guy, at least not until we're certain he's not going to think a ten wheeler is a dragon and try to fight it on the motorway or something.

What if we send him his book?

Well he's Don Quixote. His grasp on reality was tenuous originally at best... (or not so much tenous as completely inaccurate but entirely believed in.)

The possibility I thought of is that all these characters are leaking out of English translations of their books, so they don't know they're speaking a different language.

Either that, or there's some kind of universal translation thing going on. Which is convenient, if confusing.
They sometimes say, "the place where I am right now was circled on a map for me"... Unfortunately, I kind of suck at orienteering.

Here's my thought: if what you're saying applies to potentially more than one character, put it in general. If it applies only to Quixote, put it here.

He found it on the side of the road. Ok, it's not exactly stolen, but the point is that somebody may be looking for it, and finding a lost phone that wasn't even turned off (and I doubt our sir bothered to change the SIM :D ) is absolutely not a problem. Even if that doesn't lead to problems with the police, he may still lose his only point of communication.

NeverSlender wrote:This scratches your suspension of disbelief, but a cat using the internet is ok?

:D Well, the cat is magical. I doubt someone has charmed the police, which is quite real.

Aaaand he has found a charger. I guess the point is moot now. At least he won't just disappear when it runs out.

And the unvierse fell apart slowly, piece by piece, falling through literal cracks in reality - exactly the same kind of thing we're dealing with really, when you think about it (and a possible explanation for what the threat of all these fictionals coming through actually IS: too much break down between the real and fiction, and the universe has had it. Honestly, I've been considering that pretty much the same thing is quite likely to happen here: it was the only solution Mister A. could think of to THEIR problem...

If Doctor Who and time related shenanigans do NOT show up in this whole thing in some way, shape or form, I shall be both highly dissapointed and highly relieved.

...And somewhat back on topic: what happens if you actually go speak spanish to him?

Well, he is certainly one confused guy! But he does seem certain of one thing: he wants to find his armor.

I'm thinking something like that has to be pretty conspicuous. Maybe someone's seen it? We do have the whole Internet at our disposal - maybe it can't hurt to ask around.

If you want to try to speak in spanish to him, you can try to tell him:

He's in Seattle.

I'm near Seattle.

I wonder if it would be possible to schedule a meeting?

I mean, I wouldn't be able to record it (I don't have a phone capable of video), and I'm not sure how convenient he would be to get to, but...

No, no, I meant that there is a clear inconsistency. One day he recognizes the language as English, and the other - it's Spanish!

I don't speak Spanish but I am pretty sure that it means "We built statues about your adventures in your birth city."

A translator glamour failure? As in, it uses the name of the language we see when "language" or the language he speaks is meant.

It's tempting, but I wouldn't recommend it meta-wise. They may not have a puppetmaster in Seattle. :| Don't make them break character.

I don't know; again, I'm not even sure if it's feasible. But if it is, it could help us make sure he's all right.

You could take him home. You'd be a real babysitter. And we'd have a permanent and easy acess to one fictional... For SCIENCE and such...

I don't think I have space for him... although I do have an electrical outlet that he can use.

And I would probably have to get him on a bus. That'd go over well.
