I'm not sure if it was the right choice, but I just told Quixote that Holmes exists, and directed him to his website. Normally, I wouldn't have, but he kept insisting that he didn't exist and even called me delusional. Anyway, it felt like the plot was leading to this. Let's see how he responds.

He replied :D
Looks positive, let's motivate him into sending an e-mail.

Yes, definitely. It looks like I did make a good choice.

Don Quixote sent his e-mail. What's next? Should we inform him about Poirot? Any of the other characters? Cheshire, maybe? Or should we just focus on giving him more names?

Plot-wise, we should give him a suitable name before the evening. I believe the emails can wait.

How about Wolfgang?

Isn't that a German name?
Also, he needs a last name, too.
Double also, I've made a thread for that.

Uh oh... Somehow I get a bad feeling about the way Don described the hotel he is now in...

Me too. What hotel could it be? There is something that I can almost think of... I mean, I guess I know which hotel is that (if it's a fictional one), but I can't remember...

Why are we assuming it's a fictional hotel? Why can't it just be a normal hotel with a creepy looking man running it?

The hotel sounds a bit Scooby Doo.

I'm not assuming, I'm saying that if it were a fictional one, but I suppose we could have only the manager as fictional.

I'm assuming the hotel is real. (Or at least, not from the other side of the wall as far as we're concerned.) If Don went for the cheapest accommodations he could find, it's hardly surprising that he's found a hotel with a poor excuse for a bed and a creepy manager.

Nope, from a meta point of view, the Hotel likely does not exist. I and a few others did a comprehensive search for the hotel name, and no such place exists. So... it's either a way worse place than we thought, he is lying about the name, or it was just a made up name.

I think the reason is the puppetmasters don't want any of us to pester a real hotel about a fictional character, so they created a hotel for the ARG, but that doesn't mean that the hotel or the manager is fictional, by which I mean, from the other side of the wall. Wow, we need better terminology.

The hotel is fake but not fictional. That's my bet.

You know, if we weren't tropers, we wouldn't know the difference between the two. That's why I love us! :D

But anyway, has anyone told him yet that the hotel isn't real? He seems adamant that it is.

But the hotel is real. It's just... not.

"Fake but not fictional" seems like a good assessment. The question is: Is this a hotel that was made up for the ARG, or has Don stumbled into some sort of nefarious plot involving a creepy man pretending to run a hotel?

The first one I think. The second one is just too Scooby Doo.

...
Nah :P

But there's definately something up with that guy, if only for the fact that Don has posted three tweets about him. Is he sleeping now?

Well... It could be that just didn't want us calling to a real hotel to ask about... Lance Chevalier? But it's kind of stupid to bring this up and not have anything of importance happen... So, what's the worst thing that could happen now? Because it might just be that coming our way: Everything's been too smooth recently... Holmes-Poirot reunion, not much trouble with the new characters... It's... too peaceful right now.

Summary: It's quiet... too quiet.

(In a few hours, we are probably going to be saying, "And now suddenly it's too loud. I liked it better when it was quiet.")

I get what you mean. If you think about it, nothing's actually happened yet. Its just been characters being introduced with individual stories. The overall plot hasn't moved, pretty much since the grave announcement.

...So what you are saying is that, in almost a whole month, we haven't even gotten past the Prologue?

This thing is huge. I think we can safely get rid of the term "mini-ARG".
