This thing is huge. I think we can safely get rid of the term "mini-ARG".

More like the title page.

I meant he was no longer in possession of his phone. Same difference.

Wait, what if the THIEF is a fictional character too?

Not in a meta sense, I mean...

Either way, I'm playing the Meta's theme song. It's fitting for whenever I talk about this stuff.

Is the phone technically stolen if the one who now has it is the one it belongs to in the first place?

We have no way of knowing if this is that person.

He said so in response to the tweet.

I took that more to mean "It's my phone NOW," personally.

Technically not, it's been taken back. I sense trouble if Don doesn't have connection with us. I've no idea how long he will last but we have to solve this asap.
What I'm not getting is how that guy got his phone back, unless he is the owner of the hotel, which seems unlikely.

Taking odds on how long it takes for Lance to either A) steal the phone back, or B) steal another one.

So, he wandered into the Wretched Hive. Good job, Quixote.
I don't think we can do anything about it. I say we wait for some time, and if he doesn't get online, we contact our detectives.
The other option would be to somehow trace the phone through the twitter account, but
  1. that would require a technomage,
  2. we still wouldn't be able to do anything about it - do we tell the police to catch the guy who robbed Don Quixote?
  3. meta-wise, that plan will only lead us to the puppetmaster. :gurt:

I'm open to suggestions if I missed something.

Well, I might be able to find their IP, but since they know we suspect them of stealing the phone, they may be going through a proxy or proxies and on top of that, it's a portable device so the IP wouldn't help me that much anyway. I'd probably be able to tell that they were in Seattle, which we already know.

If this guy is the rightful owner of the phone, maybe we could do something with the pictures of the woman Quixote found on it. If he took them in secret, if he doesn't know the woman, then maybe we can use that to blackmail him.

Just a thought :gurt:

But Quixote never told us much about the photos, just that they existed. I already considered blackmail, but we don't have enough info on who the owner is (and therefore who to threaten to send the photos too) or what or who the photos are of and whether or not they were perfectly normal. We could try bluffing, but I think it's almost certain our bluff would be called in this case, seeing as he can see the entire conversation between Quixote and us.

Why don't we put one of the two detectives on this case? We're probably not gonna get any further without any clues, and if I understand you correctly, even tracing the phone would not help a lot.

Meanwhile, we have two of the most famous fictional detectives who are in America as we speak, and who have set up websites specifically for their detective services. I don't know why the PM's would create those websites if not for situations like this :?

I agree. We could start with Poirot and after with Holmes. It would solve this problem and make them get together.
