(Meta: TV tropes...so what tropes connect them all?)

They're all well known but in the public domain.

Don wants to know what to do now that he reached the library! Someone tell him!

He's looking at The Complete Sherlock Holmes. I'm pretty sure this might get interesting.

I doubt that's a coincidence. Perhaps we should tell him about the real Holmes?

Sounds like it might be a good idea

Perhaps someone with more experience talking to these characters should try it. I have no idea what to say.

... This book about my adventures is completely blank. I should discuss this with the lady at the front.

What. WHAT.

He sees the stories of himself as blank pictures. Well, shit. :?
It sort of makes sense. Must be an internal Logic Bomb defense.
But him getting the Sherlock Holmes books is no coincidence. We should get him to read them.

For a second, I thought all of his adventures had been erased from everything. Glad that's not the case.

I suppose this is for the best, will probably prevent spoilers.

His mind's protecting himself from seeing himself as a fictional character. It must be similar to how his mind is convinced everyone around him is speaking Spanish. There's some force in play that's protecting the character's from understanding that they are fictional characters. Or else this man's just going insane.

Um, isn't Sherlock aware that he's fictional?

Don Quixote is delusional. I think he's just rejecting the truth.

Or it might be that none of them can read their own stories, for some reason. Have Sherlock/Hercule/Cheshire tried reading their respective stories?

As far as I know, he doesn't consider himself fictional, only that he's been transported to a dimension that considers him fictional.

It is probable that none of them can read their stories and Sherlock was just smart enough to deduce his 'fictional' nature on this level of reality.

I think he had it told to him, actually. Eh, not important. All we need to know right now is that Quixote, and presumably everyone else, cannot read their own (or, again, possibly anyone else's) stories. Reasons why are not exactly important, although I favor the 'trying to prevent spoilers' idea, myself.

I suggested he have the librarian read it to him. Though admittedly, I imagine this will result in some variety of brown note.

He's twittering again. He's still confused about that book. I kind of just want to assure him that he's not going crazy, even though I know that's probably not true.

Trust me, it's impossible for him to go crazy.

Because, sadly, he is already crazy. Poor man.

And if he attacks a nuclear power plant, we've got world war 3.

As well as that, someone tweet to him that the librarian read to him on tomorrow.

I just wonder, where would he find food? And a horse?

Don Quixote got up and started asking about other things Techno is capable of other than twitter and phone calls. I don't have a fancy smart phone like his, so instead I told him things my primitive phone can do. He's asked me to explain what a calculator is. What a strange day.

He's really interested in discovering the functions of his phone. But my phone's really outdated and I think he has a smartphone. I don't really know what all it does or how to instruct him on how to use it. Someone more familiar with smartphones should suggest something to him.
