Ask for a description of these "Trolls". If he calls you on it, say that they may be weak to different things depending on what kind of troll they are. I'll do some Google Fu, and once he responds to you I should have a giant pile of BS for you to feed him that will keep him happy.

I was going for "huffi-muffi-guffi". Yes, that's a reference, so what? ^_^

Well, i know what Tara originally intended to send him after. There is a large stone stature of a troll under a bridge in Seattle called the "Fremont Troll". Unfortunately, it seems he got rather... sidetracked. I have no bloody idea what he wants to attack now... Let me check Google Maps to find other things in that area.

We already know specifically which troll he is after. Tara mentioned in her blog sending him to go fight the Fremont Troll, which is a statue that actually exists.

Well, since it doesn't matter what he says ANYWAY, how about we give him the text of the Cat's all-caps lines from the chat? They're an all-purpose mysterious that can easily pass for a magical spell, and it would be pretty funny, on a meta level, to get Quixote shouting Cat quotes.

How about first messaging him with something like: "I understand you want to complete this quest on your own. Could I perhaps direct you to where I a permanent binding spell is hidden, so that you can learn and use it?"

Then, if he gives an affirmative response, link him to thecat chat with the advice that we believe the all-caps text to be the four lines of an ancient permanent binding spell. (I'd say just send him the text, but he's being very stubbornly independent here.)

Edit: uh-oh. He thinks he's found his own place to learn spells?

See my above post. He's been sidetracked. He is now talking about some kind of animal. There isn't a park or anything near the Troll that I can see, so he must be way off course.

Looks like he won't be accepting any help from us this time. He's gone and found himself a witchcraft school.

Actually, based on his description--

Quixote wrote:It would seem there are many of these trolls, and feeding them is discouraged.

Quixote wrote:It also seems people express irritation at them rather than fear.

That sounds like internet trolls after all. How on earth he plans to "bind" one...

There are multiple of whatever it is he thinks are trolls, there is a sign that says not to feed them, and they are annoying people. Look at his tweets.

Or that... Wait, did he Google troll then instead of go somewhere? I was assuming he had actually moved to the location already. Geez, so incompetent.

I was thinking along those same lines. What have you in mind?

Anybody got any harry potter spell books or an other fictional spell boook that does a good job of pretending to be real?

Too late for that. He's already off on his own.

I think he was referring to internet trolls. Some posters were trying to get him to do web research on "trolls" and those seem to be his findings. But I feel like he's now on track focusing on the Fremont Troll. I could be wrong, but that was the specific quest Tara gave him. I don't think he would let himself get side tracked.

And ninja'd.

Too late. We need to figure out what kind of "emporium" he's headed for that he thinks will teach him what he needs to know.

I'm just hoping he'll go to the shop, they'll sell him some phony bologney spell book or charm, he'll cast the spell, then go back to finding Tara and helping her defend herself against her stalkers.

Uh... only emporium I could come up with that made the slightest sense... I hope it isn't this one:

Seattle Tattoo Emporium, Boren Avenue, Seattle, WA

Bloody hell, stupid link... Gimme a sec

Look how close it is to the troll.

Zoom out a bit on both to see.

Uh...Hopefully that's not it. Who ever directed him there is either very confused or very twisted.

Yea... I'm beginning to think that if the store he is going to actually exists, that's it... It's really close by. Just about half a mile to the south of the troll. Someone ask if the store is close to the troll.

Gives a whole new meaning to "PERMANENT binding spell"...
what the hell, he's supposed to use the spell on the troll, not himself

Okay, it is not the tattoo parlor and it is not near the troll. So what are we dealing with?

It's most likely Seattle's Market Magic Shop at Pike Place Market.

Quixote has reached Maldark's Fantasy Emporium. Good. Let's get this over with.

Edit: A google search brought up no results on this place. It's either made up for the game, or just so small that it doesn't have a web site or any internet mention at all.
