Gulliver's got a new letter up. He seems to have noticed me. He still doesn't seem to understand his current situation. He still thinks his family is out there waiting for his return. In the meanwhile, he and Silver seem to be taking in the sights of Tokyo. They appear to be quite comfortable. Gulliver may be beginning to understand that there might've been some time travel involved in his journey.

Trust me, he's used to it. He will probably acclimate to the idea of this whole thing faster than most. Once he realizes what's going on, more or less, we can start feeding him bits of info as we have the other characters.

Agreed. But I think we should see from which part of his story he came from. I'm guessing after the first 2 islands.

Negative. He starts talking about being upset by his horses. It's after the whole thing.

Semi. He seems to have had some time to readjust before this whole thing happened.

To be honest, I don't know how to interpret "being upset by horses". He came to like his horses after the last journey. Did he get frustrated because they didn't talk back? :)

Seems to be implying that. He also makes references to the flying island in the third journey, so...

A new poster has recently commented on one of Gulliver's letters. The poster's name is louis vuitton outlet. His message is:

I don’t even know how I stopped up right here, but I believed this put up was once great. I do not recognise who you might be but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger in the event you aren’t already. Cheers!

But most interesting of all, if you click his name, it directs you to a blog. This one:
http://cheaplouisvuitton.sinaapp.com/

I can't make heads or tails of it. But I figure it's not something that should be ignored. Some seemingly insignificant things have turned out to be really significant lately, so it might be worth looking into, or at least being aware of. I'll just leave this for the hivemind to puzzle out. If it's important, great. If not, oh well.

And yet another letter from Gulliver. He seems interested in the Tokyo bullet train, so this could get interesting :gurt:

The blog doesn't even load properly, and the guy speaks in a depersonalized manner (I wouldn't speak like that if I saw freaking Gulliver's blog!). AND he is pointing to a site that has "cheap" in it. He is a spambot. Full stop.
UPD: And now that it has loaded properly, his post are a Word Salad. Clearly a SEO junk blog. Move along.

He wants to publish his books through a blog. Please do not push him on that matter, or else he may actually do it. :o

Gulliver wrote:felt unbelievable joy at seeing how those people refrained from abusing Houyhnhnms.

We have a confirmation that he did cross after his last book.

Everything else is hardly relevant. His blog pisses me off - it's mostly a huge Expospeak Gag.

All right, so he wants to distribute the accounts of his adventures from before? Well luckily, they're in the public domain and freely available on the internet already.

http://www.gutenberg.org/files/829/829-h/829-h.htm

I'm considering just giving this link to Gulliver.

(Also, I get the impression that Gulliver's Travels is read quite a bit in Japan, given that references to it show up in the Japanese media that I see... Miyazaki's The Castle in the Sky calls the floating island Laputa, for instance.)

Yes, which is great for everyone except the Spanish, where Lapute translated is actually quite a bad insult (and it's highly likely the writer did that deliberately since there was some ill will towards them at the time). Miyazaki says if he'd known that was the case he would never have called the film that in the first place.

I wonder if he can read it? Don Quixote couldn't, so it could be that Gulliver is not supposed to read his own stories either.

I think he can, because they are written in the past tense - that means no spoilers. He will probably freak out that we somehow know about his travels, though. Let's do this. :gurt:

But just because they are written in the past tense doesn't mean he has experienced all that is written there. He may have come here before his travel described in his book is over... Although he already knows about those weird horses, so I'm not sure.

Also, wouldn't him freaking out be a good reason not to do this?

Should somebody maybe go tell them this and confirm it? If he already suspects convincing him shouldn't be too hard...

Actually, by all means mention it. I want to see if this is different from Quixote's case. After all, those books were, in Gulliver's universe, WRITTEN BY HIM. Therefore, as he has already confirmed that he published all four sections, he has both gone through everything and has written it all himself. Thus, there shouldn't be any danger of him seeing it if it works.

Ok, I got tired of beating around the bush. If he suspects being in future already, I'll now tell him about his books.

We should probably wait until they go to an english speaking country. Otherwise he'll probably pick up some hentai by accident.

Oh, and you do realize you have only made me more convinced that we should tell him now just to see that happen, right?

I only said we should "probably" wait. Hilarity is always a good reason to carry out a bad idea.
