Know the PHEEBLE chat server?
Well...
Link: PHEEBLE
Thing is, it's hosted at a certain IP address: http://66.135.33.167/
Now... It does redirect to a certain ezblog.co does it not?

Cabal's chat server is hosted in that same server. Also, Intro1 is Angelus invitation to chat, yet he does not provide the key to join the chat. Still, Pyramus joins anyway in Intro2. Which means the key to active chat was given somehow. If we assume they hacked into the ezblog account to hide the chat client, the key could be in there. I didn't try to crack the stuff... But I won't pretend I didn't notice.

Tara's blog was also discarded at first and proved to be linked to Don's storyline. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Well how about "You are really, really determined to metagame." Not that that's a bad thing. I just find it hilarious every time this happens. I don't think the PM's planned for this AT ALL.

Also, his post links to a blip.tv channel.
One of the videos is:
http://blip.tv/MediaMeltdown/media-melt ... s2-6371516

Not saying it's relevant. But it's a connection to Echo Chamber personnel.

The coding of the site provides for an image to be there, and gives a set of default ones. If you don't set one, the site randomly picks one from the list. I already looked into that.

http://cf.ezblog.twwf.info/ and http://efp.ezblog.twwf.info/ have both popped up too, but they haven't had anything relevant. They're likely red herrings. Although there was that interesting dream Rick had here.

First thoughts are it's it's not someone's real blog. The reviews are very basic and only mention the most popular manga and no anime. Also it only mentions one shoujo, again one of the most well know. As for a key to the chat, nothing is leaping out at me.

Also a thought. It mentions three shonen manga and one shoujo. Three men and a woman?

Sidenote: The reviews are rubbish. Kabuto's backstory was pretty boring and Punk Hazard was a good arc from the start.

In the video I posted, he was part of the interview with the Echo Chamber crew.

On a side note, why does this site always ask for an archive code? Does it not host active chats?

Which is what I said... Angelus left a invitation but not the key. Meaning, he MUST have let the key somehwere one who stumbled upon the chatroom could find... ALSO!
The invtation is in Intro1, meaning, whoever got to the chat client must have known beforehand that such a archive existed... Now, I would need administrative tools from inside pheeble to look at inbound connnections, but... What could you possibly look for that would point you to this pheeble...

My main concern is Pyramus.
Angelus creates the chat. He needs to make sure those interested see it. Neither he nor Pyramus sent the letters nor knew each other... So... If you're a fictional character that needs to find other people without drawing attention to yourself, where would you publish your recruitment letter?

Also, if you're a fictional curious about the videos, where would you look for more info?

EDIT: HOLY FRIKKING FUCK I CAN'T BELIVE I MADE THAT ONE TYPO!!!!

The teacher?

Gah, I can't scroll through the chat archives on my iPod.

Assuming they both started at the video. Angelus creates the chat. He didn't return to comment (just looked through the comments on youtube), where does he publish his Info1 key?
Pyramus watches the video. No info on the comments. What does he look for..? Where does he go for information?

I really wish I had the timestamps to know when exactly each conversation took place...

It's wierd the first chat says anyone interested "should contact me here". That means he's put something out already and expected it to be found.

The chats are all archives, that means either the first chat or something else he's put out must contain the code for the active chat.

Also, the site says "PHEEBLE: Your secure group chat". Emphasising secure...

True.
Also this:
If you have not seen his show yet, here is a link to the video to which I am referring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z15kdjQCCs

It implies that whoever got there could've done so without coming from youtube... Which mean Angelus posted his chatroom somewhere. If so, where? Well, not that it's going to be much use... He could very well have the page deleted before they came here to hack us.... In which case the only way is to power through the password if at all possible.

I could try accessing it via Telnet... But it'd be too much irony for my poor soul if this is the answer. Well, gotta download Putty again... Also, I don't know that framework... If I knew where the chat base came from I could gather more info... I'm not very much willing to download the server data, it'll be messy to handle.

No Sell.
Telnet and SSH connections to the server are disabled. As expected, the irony levels would be too high if the "secure" channel ran over Telnet...

Triple post just because this section has 666 posts at the moment.

Guys? Anyone online?
Hollywood Hacking is not in effect... ezblog.co is a subdomain of wordpress. There's no way I can actually hack into that server for real unless someone finds the missing piece: how/where did Angelus publish the key to the chat.
And since I'm alone on this right now, I'll just stop and wait until I hit an epiphany or someone comes along with information I'm not seeing.

Okay, I'm new here, after catching up on the timeline, but...
http://efp.ezblog.twwf.info/ is DEFINITELY related. The last four posts have been referencing characters from the ARG: first Mr. Admin in the CAKE-centric post that started with a dream about him; then a post which itself is unrelated but whose title is clearly referencing Cinderella-- "After midnight, what else could you do with that coach"; then the Belgian waffles post (i.e., Poirot, our Belgian); then the most recent one (which must be on a different time-zone from me, since it says it's posted on tomorrow's date), which mentions both a WITCH's brew and LIMEADE.

There's something here, guys... but I don't know what we're looking for, how to find it, or whether it's connected to the cabal or unrelated (sorry if it's unrelated-- I'm posting this here because someone further up mentioned this blog being a red herring).

And... It was a false lead.
All of the ezblog.co blogs redirect to the same IP address. It was either luck or an intentional jab that had the Ben's Manga be the frontload one... Also on a meta note so does watchthefootage.com.
False lead, nothing to see here. :geek:

EDIT: Maybe not so false. The meat guy, on Dryu's Mr. Cake topic. It fits my theory of the Cabal frontloading the information in code, and is active and kicking. The Manga blog could very well be a Red Herring by the Cabal to hide their actual coded messages, so for now I suppose we could try to crack what that blog is about.

WTF video with the first letter was posted on 17th September. The cake guy's posts were made on 3rd April, and then on 10th October. Unless he deleted the post that contained the key, I don't think it could be contained there.

But your question is correct: How would anyone try to find fictional compatriots? And, now that I think about it, how the hell did they find Joe? WTF was (and still is, really) an obscure show that's not even showing up in trends or related videos, and it's not like you could find it with a title search. HOW?!
I think it is Handwaved. There was just no way they could find him, and that means we can't follow the trail.

In all honesty? I think Joe just got really unlucky. He can't have been the only person noticing these videos and clearly wasn't, he was jut the first to put them together in any kind of pattern, with any kind of intent.

Actually yeah, that's a good point.

...Oh dear. I do hope it's not the case that there WERE others who have already been, um, silenced. I doubt it, their convos didn't make it sound that way, but still, it's a worry.
