It does kind of show how much these character's presence is altering reality. Things like personal rain cloud can happen now in reality. That's big.

But WAS it happening in reality, or was that just a representation of what happened? We are seeing these through the echoes fictionals leave behind. It's likely that they do not exactly reflect what real people present at the time saw.

Imagine if people's eyes start popping out of their sockets when they're surprised, or hearts appear over people's heads when they fall in love, and who knows what else. Most of it may be harmless, but it would be a clear sign that reality is deteriorating, confirming our beliefs that the fictional characters cannot stay here.

If it turns out that it was just an artistic choice, then we at least learn a little 6bit more about the nature of the comics, and thus the nature of the echos. We'll know not to take everything the comic shows us at face value and we'd be more careful about trying to over analyze them and search for clues in them.

Either way, we do win a little, and learn something.

I feel like some of these things would be...embarrassing. It must really kind of suck to be in Fictional Land (TM) if you wind up...I dunno. Wearing your heart on your sleeve all the time, or losing to the guy we think of as the "good guy" when, in reality, everyone's the good guy in their own stories. Or at least the protagonist.

I am starting to really understand why some of the characters - including the Cabal - would want to stay here, under any means necessary (even if those means aren't great).
