He's hitchhiking to New Jersey... Peter probably has no clue of how dangerous it it to hitch rides from random strangers.
What's the betting MlF picks him up?
Power of plot. Either he gets there safely, or he doesn't. Either way, everything will turn out the way it's supposed to.

Joe has something new about Peter.
He has a lawyer, who's doing the job pro bono. However, when the defender was informed about the prosecutor, his response was, pretty much verbatim: "Aw crap. Well, we're screwed."

If someone could transcribe the text please, that would be nice. I'm trying to follow any other possible leads, but I've already tried searching for the text once and got nothing. I want to see if this page will come up when I search a second time, or if I need to try something else.

Yes. I laughed my ass off.

Here's the transcription:
"Karen? Ready to go?
I know, I said you’d never take dictation, but you know how I am with typing first thing in the morning. Look, I know you can do shorthand, it said so in your CP, just take it down, okay? *clears throat, inhales*
I am proud to announce that I will be providing my legal services to a young man in need. This person has been accused of a range of crimes that many would consider heinous, crimes that could only be committed by a person beyond redemption. But where these people see a guilty party, I see a fragile member of our own community richly deserving of the appropriate representation. That is why I will be representing him pro bono as an attempt to give back to the wider community that has given me so much. This is a great day for the legal process. I look forward to standing beside the accused as he gets his day in court, and I look forward to justice being done.
Karen, did you get all that?
Great. Type it up and put it on the main page. Oh, and did Tommy get back to us with the scoop on who the prosecuting attorney is?
Who?
Oh, crap. Not him. Well, that does it. We’re screwed."

I don't really think the transcript matters. It is more or less "blah-blah-blah lawyer stuff, blah-blah I'll try to help, blah-blah oops we're screwed".

Hey, there's nothing wrong with lawyer stuff. My objection is to her pompous dorkiness.

Well, damn.
That prosecutor is a jerk.
(Also, didn't he hear what Pan SAID? How does "I would
never, never take someone on an adventure..." become "he
takes!" That is the OPPOSITE of what he said!)

I have several words for this guy, but I think I'd probably be banned for use of excessively crude lanaguage if I did so,
Urgh, disgusting sleaze...
Also Peter is looking about eighteen here, man, how FAST is he aging?

He sounds as if he stepped right out of one of those rediculous trials they had in Catherine Cookson period dramas. If he got anymore slimey, he'd be amphibeous.

I'm a little afraid of invoking Godwin's Law, but...
my professor showed us a film set in Nazi Germany today (no CLUE how it was relevant to the course).
And this prosecutor reminds me SO MUCH of the prosecutor at the show trial in the film...

That man is a disgrace to all well-known fictional prosecutors (and at least some of the non-fictional ones).

Slicked back hair. Never a good sign.
Also, totally irrelevant, but where did Pan get a suit?

From his lawyer, probably?

Yeah, I'm guessing his lawyer bought the suit for him. It's always recommended to wear a suit to court. Don't know that it'll be much help in Pan's case though...

The suited guy was the lawyer. Pan didn't have his coat on.

My knowledge of clothes (I'd say "men's clothes" but then I'd be kidding myself that I'm better with women's clothes and I'm not) is very limited. Pan's wearing a tie. As far as I'm concerned that's tantamount to wearing a suit. I'll leave further sartorial analysis to those more qualified.

I'm not liking how this is going. There's got to be something we can do for Peter.

I'm not sure how it works, though. We saw the court's session (or whatchamacallit) from the prosecution's standpoint, but that sessions is probably over by now. Perhaps there will be more sessions, but we'll need a recap of that one anyway.

...Well I guess we could maybe form a campaign or something?
Wait! How about a
petition?

We have to at least show he has support from people in the world who don't believe he is getting a fair trial. If everyone in the forum signed in...
