The inner workings of the echoes and xovr.net

I got interested in that, since that was the only way I could actually interact with the echoes. How did the names were picked (those that were not random)? When were the images in the /found/ folder created? Why did the later echoes have more sensible names, and why some were actually HTML pages with embedded images?
(And, well, I hope I didn't break anything when brute-forcing the echoes. :? )

And I'm totally not asking that because I want to crack the final echo. No, really. >_>

P. S. And, canonically, who does the site belong to?

If I recall correctly, everything you mention was done specifically to make it HARDER to brute force. Not easier. You, uh, kind of fell for that trap. Sorry, man.

And as he stated, it is canonically Mr. Administrator's site.
