Adell vs. Cthulhu

Postby Qara-Xuan Zenith on Sun Dec 30, 2012 2:03 am

I'm actually surprised that so few people took seriously the idea that Adell could actually die (in-game, I mean). I took that very seriously... perhaps a bit too seriously... well, you know. :?

But I have a question: What would have happened if he did die (other than the mass exodus of angry Metaguards which I still hypothesize)?
I mean, I know he would have played along, and I know Sicon would have played along, but as I said in the voice chat at the time (because I was uncomfortable going on the record with the meta when I was taking the death-possibility so seriously), regardless of the fact that anyone who wouldn't play along would be a total jerk, there's no way to ensure it, other than Mr. A responding to any and all posts by the "dead" person with "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE DEAD".

How would you have dealt with that? And, also, how would Adell's death have changed the course of the endgame? Just "You lose"?
Why are we even arguing about a dead fictional dude and hypothetical ninjas?

You'd still win. Adell would be dead though. This game didn't really have a lose condition. I've never believed in really having "Lose" conditions.

Well, Mr. A would have likely just closed the wall himself. Somehow.

It would have been a heroic sacrifice. The winner of the election, if not saved by songs and fics, would have been asked to stay clear of the forum.

As for how we'd enforce that, let's just say, it's a good thing you guys won. *puts away the piano wire*

Hey, remember when I said, in the meet-up thread, that I got the rep as the creepy puppet master?

I've been giving Tom lessons.

Be advised: there has been an outbreak of piano-wire-shaped bruises in the WTF Forum.
