I mean, I feel like this has been kind of answered implicitly, but that compulsion to categorize everything obsessively pulls me on...

So I know the timing wasn't a coincidence, but how much effect did our Tram Wreck have on that conversation being posted? Just pushing up a scheduled thing? Or did you decide to put it together in order to hold us together? Or something in between?

I'll say something in between. A few GMs had wanted it done earlier, a few had wanted it done later, so...compromise was reached when we saw that it was needed now.

I know we were thinking about doing at least one more video before they made up, but yes, we basically just moved something up we already felt was natural.

We felt we needed an example of people taking different sides respectfully =P

I'd been pushing for it for at least a week, so, thanks for creating the circumstances that allowed me to finally win that debate. ;)

In seriousness, I was concerned that the atmosphere of distrust had gone too far, and we were reaping what we'd sown. From a design perspective, some possibility for redemption and a rekindling of faith needed to be shown. Players were starting to feel that their task was hopeless, which it wasn't! You were doing great! At that point, it was clear you were going to finish the game, either through echoes or wall pieces. So, positivity!

Most of us planned on getting them back together; it was a question of when and how.
