Cthulhu Requirements

Okay, based on my admittedly quite limited understanding of what Adell actually had to do, why was it so stressed that whoever was chosen had to have a smartphone and car? As far as I can tell, he or whoever really just needed to be able to film himself yelling (and fighting Eldritch Abominations, of course) in a park, which technically doesn't require either. Was it just another tactic to limit the pool of volunteers, or am I missing something huge?

We needed someone who would be able to go to a location that resembled something like that park, because that's the sort of area where the Cabal shots and the Cthulhu shots were being filmed and they all needed to match up. We didn't know how close these would be to any particular player, so a car was necessary. It seemed less superfluous than saying BE ABLE TO GET TO A PARK.

As for the phone thing, a good camera and a good recording device would have sufficed, but for most people, that's gonna mean a smartphone. That, and the phone would need to work the app that Mr. A sent to really defeat Cthulhu for real, and a normal camera would not have been able to do that.

Pixelmage lives across the street from a park. Has a tablet capable of reasonable quality of recordings.

Assuming I could simply record my piece and send it from home, instead of needing to stream it on spot, I could have very well gone to the mission...
Oh well, not like I would be chosen anyway... I think. :?

The requirements were stressed over and over again because we needed someone capable of getting the video.

Also, there were loads of people who volunteered, and we needed to cut it down to 10. Some folks had to drop out, and we knew many people simply wouldn't be able to get what we needed, through no fault of their own.

And then Cthulhu really did attack and Soph had to write that app really fast, which saved Alex a lot of sleepless nights animating Cthulhu.

The worst part? I had no idea how to write a iPhone app in the first place, let alone a Cthulhu-killing one. (Which is probably why the phone melted. Sorry. :()

Given that the end of the world was nigh, though...
