Cat video

Um... What was the deal with that first cat video on Joe's account?
Just another crimson fish? Or something else?
Why are we even arguing about a dead fictional dude and hypothetical ninjas?

You have to keep in mind that we were seriously short on cats in the ARG at that time. It's kind of a law of the Internet or something that you have to have a certain amount of cat content to stay online.
I smiled when the wall was built, for I knew we were creating something incredible. And I smiled when it cracked, for the world would soon see what we had wrought.

Hahahahaha.

I love the fact that this has come up again. That video is the greatest thing ever.

The cat video's sole purpose was to establish Joe as having existed and having a pointless youtube channel prior to the wall's collapse.

We asked Alex to make it, and he obliged. The mistake came when we asked Alex, a master of surrealism and the art of discomfort, to write the music.

My exact words to him were something like, "Something light and fun, on vibraphone." He gave us what you heard.

Dana was convinced it was perfect. Eddie hated it. I had no idea what to think. ONTO THE INTERNET IT WENT.

For the record, I enjoyed the video, but always muted the sound.

Eddie was actually convinced that it was so bad it would stop everyone from playing our game ever.

It wasn't quite that bad, obviously.

Eddie was under the impression that it was the rabbithole we were sending out to people getting the packages, when in fact it was locked away in the oldest corner of Joe's channel by the time the rabbithole package went out. Under Eddie's not entirely unreasonable assumption, his conclusion made perfect sense.

I remember all of that, and all of the times we had to convince him that we had a plan that wasn't as stupid as it looked. And yeah... in retrospect, it was stupid looking....

Hey, that's only mostly true. You asked for a something resembling the Rossini piece at the beginning of this video, and I sort of delivered with this. The only problem is it was even worse than the music we ended up using, because I don't do happy very well.

And what about the sound? And those screams that are totally there? :o
(And the fact that after that video I wouldn't be surprised that The Cat Was The Mastermind.)

The "screams" were Alex saying "KITTY" slowed down.

The "here, kitty, kitty" heard in the video was actually me pronouncing "yttik, yttik, ereh," played in reverse. It's remarkably hard to pronounce the backwards "k" sound.

Darn it, Pix, I thought you stopped doing that since we closed the coffee room.
