So, we were talking about this as the 21st was getting closer and a lot of people were completely lost as to how Poirot might help. Did any of you have any ideas?

Sorry there's a lot going on.

The near-tied election helped us out a lot, because it gave us one more loose thread we could try to use, to try to tie the Witch and Poirot's refics together. At the endgame there, the more birds we could kill with one stone, the better.

Without the election happening the way it did, I don't really know what we would have done with Poirot. We would have figured something out. But I'm very happy with the way things went.

Actually, I do remember one of our terrible ideas for how Poirot could have helped.

The idea was that the election winner would load him into the app and shoot him out of a Canon Cannon, or a Laser Canon, or some other awful pun. Like his refictionalization would turn him into a laser bolt that would hit Cthulhu.

Weaponized Poirot. Yeah.

I forget who came up with this, but it was seriously the world's stupidest idea.

The only way we could make it betterworse was shooting Sicon out of a canon.

Rest assured, a gratuitous Touhou reference would have been bellowed in such a scenario.

...That certainly would have been betterworse.

But first I would point out the plot hole involving the fact that you were sending me to the void when A had said none of us set off his beeby box thing. ;)

Beepy box. It's a box that goes beep.

You certainly aren't going to allow it, so I guess not, Si ;)

I think you got 'stupid' and 'COMPLETELY AWESOME' mixed up.

Forget how stupid it is. I would give up all the common sense to have a chance to say the latter.

This. I would have loved this. Cthulu dies by the hands of Poirot.

And his corpse has a giant pointed mustache. Fuck yeah!

It would be good to see him firing shot after shot....he carries a revolver occasionally, I think.

It would be even more awesome to see Holmes alongside him, blasting away with his Webley. Or attacking Cthulhu with his hunting crop.

One thing I'll add - I facepalmed when they told me that I'd need to do one last audio play for Poirot, and fast, because we needed to get it ready for Sicon.

Not the "get into character" thing, though. I had been fighting a nasty throat cold for the last two weeks of the ARG, and I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to voice Poirot properly (maybe it's just me, but I still think he sounds off in that sequence). I guzzled a ridiculous amount of tea (which is what later inspired the post about aromatics on EFP) in order to be able to do that sequence.

I can only imagine just what I would have done if we had done the weaponized Poirot plan. Maybe hope War Of The Worlds was right, and that the common cold could kill aliens from beyond.
