The first discovery of Poirot's blog

Postby Sicon112 on Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:41 pm

So, was that whole thing with all of the Poirot posts up on the wrong account, then the site getting taken down supposed to happen? Did that cause James to be NAMED Raikes when we found the blog early in order to cover the mistake, or was that intended as an early link between Holmes and Poirot from the first? What exactly went down there?
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

IT WAS ALL TOTALLY INTENDED.

Yeah, there was a slight tech snafu, easily corrected but a bit of a hassle. Not the biggest we've had to deal with, though, just one of the early ones.

And the name Raikes? Was that planned?

It shouldn't have happened the way it did, but I think we spackled over it without creating a single inconsistency. All we needed to do was add a last name for James. :)

I'm still amazed that worked. There are a lot of things I am amazed worked.

It did lead you guys to find Connor Raikes' blog and think it was part of the game. That was a bit awkward.

This was the first of many times Raikes got emails, phone calls, and texts from me in the space of like 2 minutes, which probably hampered his reaction more than they helped. :gurt:

I believe the term is "n00b mistake". In my defense... I was still technically a "n00b" then. That mostly cleared up by the end though.

Yes. Yes it was. I was checking that blog several times, expecting it to become a part of the game. :D

I am so sorry you had to do that. I wouldn't wish my blog on anybody.
