I hope this is the right place to ask this, as Cinderella does not appear to have her own sub-thread, but I must have a confirmation on a WMG of mine.

Was Cinderella's nickname supposed to be Cindy instead of Sandy? You see, we noticed that there seem to be two Sandy's in this game, and I can't help but notice that one's name was introduced very shortly after the other one was discussed on another blog. Shortly after, Sherlock mentions a slip of the tongue in which he called Sandy Cindy by mistake. I took that as a clue. Here's my theory:

Cinderella's name was supposed to be Cindy from the start. But the GM responsible for Holmes' blog who wrote about the hotel worker who was supposed to be Cinderella, made a typo, probably after coming off writing an Adam blog post and having the name Sandy on the mind, so wrote the name Sandy instead of Cindy. Thus giving us two Sandy's and no reasonable way for Sherlock to correct himself. So the name Sandy was kept, and as a sort of a wink towards the mistake, Sherlock mentioned accidentally calling her Cindy in a conversation to some one else.

I know this is a trivial matter, but let me know if I got close.

Adam Frankenstein was written by Mark Slabinski, and the detectives were both written by Connor Raikes. They just came up with the same nickname for different characters, if I understand correctly.

Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Also, right after Sandy was refic'ed, a hurricane hit the... Yeah. We noticed that coincidence too, but... no way we were going to milk that for drama.

My understanding - and this may be wrong - is that Cinderella's nickname was Cindy but her alias was Sandy. That is, among US, the Tropers and PM's, she was Cindy - obviously since Cindy is short for Cinderella; but to CINDERELLA, she went under the name Sandy, because it was similar enough to remember but different enough to allay suspicion.

Speaking of Cinderella and her name, if we had picked up on that sooner, would her storyline have been any different? Or was she never intended to have more screen-time than she got?

Cinderella actually wasn't originally intended to have any screentime =) We created that sequence of events as a result of your guys' interest in her. We considered taking it further, but I think we found a good role for her to play.

FYI not only does Cindy and Sandy sound close to the same, but they mean similar things as well; Cinderella means "The little ashes"; in fact, in every translation of Cinderella, they take this translation (Cendrillon in French, Aschenputtel in German, etc.). Ashes? Sand? Not too far off...
