If we have to get them home, then yes. Or are we not doing that anymore?

That's not what I said. I said we don't necessarily have to find them yet. We don't know the timescale for the ARG, it couod be years before we get to the point where we send them back.

Also, your assuming there is something to find. Not all characters have a blog or a twitter account.

Don Quixote is the guy in chainmail, so I say yes.

To which part?

The part that questions wheter we have to find the other characters or not.

I hope you do understand that we may not have a choice. She may be vital to the plot. We really don't know. But we're surely not going ignore her. If a lead pops up that leads us to Cinderella, we can't just pretend she doesn't exist because we don't like the direction the narrative is going. The plot may not be developing very fast, but that might be because we haven't found enough characters. So let's keep finding characters. The more the merrier. Maybe when we get enough, we can finally be forced into some kind of action.

I'm not saying we don't have to find them, just not yet. All of the current POIs, except for the ones found by Pixel, have been revealed by GMs. We haven't found any characters by ourselves.

I don't understand your point. If characters are meant to be found, they're going to be found one way or the other. And we may not be able to get the plot started until we find enough of them, so why give up the hunt now?

I'm making two separate points. The first is that people say we should look for Cinderella, but at the minute the way we could do that is by meta means. I don't think the GMs were too happy last time we did that. So if we are meant to find her, we'll get a link or puzzle which will lead us to her.

The second is a personal point. I would rather we had some plot development instead of new characters. Others may disagree.

I am taking it upon myself to explore the limits of the characters apparent inability to see their own stories, as discovered by Don. I'm curious to see what they are able to see or not see, and once I get some more information from Don, I'll spread to other characters, possibly the Witch, Long John, and maybe Romeo and Juliet (The last two are going to be tricky, given that I wouldn't want to spoil the end of their story to them, but I need a large sample size).

A good plan. We once tried linking Don to "I, Don Quixote" from The Man Of La Mancha, but he never responded to it, and plot happened shortly thereafter. You might want to try the same thing or something similar.
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

My plan is to start by linking to pages specifically about their works (like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Quixote), and then go outward to pages that are more and more obliquely connected (like the next step would be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wo ... on_Quixote, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Do ... characters, or possibly your The Man Of La Mancha example). And then keep going, find out where the limit lies, and repeat.

Might not give us anything useful, but it could provide something.

This issue with Romeo, Juliet, and Quixote though is what the hell we do if they DO find what their story is... We may not actually want that to happen...

I had a similar issue when I linked Romeo and Juliet both to Westside Story. Juliet didn't respond, Romeo said his flatmate told him it was crap, but that he may look it up in the future.

Which is true.

Perhaps I should try it with Long John first? I'm not sure. I went with Don first simply because he's the most talkative out of all of the characters so far.

Like with what? Treasure Planet? 'Cause I think that'll confuse him more than anything...

If it is, do you guys really think he would be fitting in with humans NEARLY as well? That would take some god-like Weirdness Censors...

But could we understand him or would we just hear his lion roars? And what would he look like, being animated and all?
