(Sorry for derailing the thread) It has just come to me that Mr. Cake problaby is the thing that keeps reality and fiction apart, or better, he just stands in between. He is at the same time, fictional and real. He is the book, the internet, the movie, the anything that stands in between the worlds, metaphorically, while the wall is the physical embodiment, or even the lack of so. The void itself can act as a wall, as in a vacuum seal of sorts.

That's more or less the idea I was getting at, except with the added thought that, at the same time, he is something completely beyond all of those things.
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

That's exactly what I meant at the picture. Mr. A can write fiction if we so desires, but he will control HIS fictional world. The void's void is, presumably, occupied by some other Administrators. :D
I think this theory lacks two things: how do fictional characters interact with each other, and how does reality affect the fourth wall itself.

EDIT: You know what? I think we've passed a threshold beyond which it's time to create a new thread.

That's why, not in this thread, I suggested that we make a metaphorical vision of how the fictional world interacts with itself and with our by thinking of the wall as a place, from wich a near infinite set of portals take you to any fictional world, while one of these takes the traveler to ours. The speculation starts and we discuss the possibilities, anulating and creating theories on the process.

No, really. I'm totally creating a thread for this.

As they say, "Build it, and they will come."
