I'm still worried about Cinderella, frankly.

I personally have several friends who dress up almost once every week. So, I'm not sure if I'd really notice anything. Especially with Halloween coming up. They could walk around among us and no one would think anything of it.

And, as a Disney fan, I am worried about her as well. No telling what would happen to a girl like her in a world like ours. (I'm aware Cinderella is not a Disney character by origin, but I still worry none-the-less)

Halloween of course, that's it. There could be thousands millions coming through that time, and we wouldn't be able to tell who was the real deal and who was in costume.

Yep. It does present a perfect opportunity. We'll have to keep a special eye out for exceptional 'costumes' that night. And, best be subtle about it. Might be bad if they realize where we're from.

That's another problem I was thinking of the Reality is Unrealistic trope, what if the accurate costumes that the real fictionals wear don't match what is usually portrayed in the books or television. We could have fictionals in their real clothes mistaken for costumes.

Not to mention capturing the wrong people in costume thinking it's the real deal.

Halloween is when Hope and Mann will do something to Tara as well, so I have a feeling that Halloween is the endgame.

Endgame of the whole ARG, or just for poor Tara?

Honstly, I'd worry MORE about the original Cinderella, although she might cope better than the Disney one... Part of me still kinda wants to put more effort into finding her. She's one of the few we KNOW is out there but have no way of tracking down, and she's one of the earliest to come through... yet we still know nothing of her fate.

I think that Halloween will be the end of this act. The ARG is not that small.
Also, how was the man that helped Holmes again? I'm thinking he could be... Santa Claus

Agreed, the end of this part. I want it to go on longer if possible!

The point of the characters looking realistic is a good one. Especially if they have been here a while. It's doubtful they'd be wearing clothes from their world still. Also, I don't think we would be capturing them. Just getting a better scope of those that could be nearby. Then again, any estimate we would get would likely be inaccurate due to guessing wrong.

How's about just politely asking them to come with us and explaining what's going on to them, if that's at all possible (it'll probably depend on who they are)?

Hmm, okay, so the character has to be super-duper-famous, but also originates from a work of literature. Hmm, let me ponderificate who that can lead...Zaphod Beeblebrox might be able. I sure hope Voldemort doesn't, that could get ugly fast.

*Super huge gasp*

Guys, what if HARRY DRESDEN gets through! He could be, like, the biggest help ever!

Steady on, man ;) . I don't think we've gotten to that point yet. The thing that defines all the characters we've had so far is mostly that they're primarily from much, much older texts. Like, old-enough-to-be-known-universally-for-decades texts. The more the wall breaks, the newer, I suspect, the characters we see will become. So you'll have to worry about Cthulhu looong before you have to worry about Voldemort.

Actually, I thought about it for a bit, and it seems to me that one thing the characters have in common is that they're the least likely to invoke Fan Myopia over the largest amount of people. So the texts need to be old AND famous.

(And I do mean texts; I forget who pointed this out and where, but all of the characters who've seeped through have their origins based in literature. As Ace just pointed out. ;) )

Yeah, I wonder if we're due a character from another medium, at some point. We seem to have moved forwards a little bit in time in terms of who's showing up... at least if the Anita Blake theory holds true.

Basically my idea is that The Witch came through from a movie from 1937 based on a book from 1900. The fictional people things are coming from more and more recent works. We need to be prepared for anything, be super vigilant. And stuff.

As much as I'd like that (Butcher is my favorite living author), I don't think it's going to happen.
On the fact that none of the characters are younger than 50~100 years, yes, we'd have to worry about Cthulhu way before.

Also, a pattern is that no two characters from the same book go through. At least until the Lovers. (Moriarty theory kind of died off over time... no one is talking about it right now...)

So, if we want to predict which characters may come through, the best bet right now is to look at other iconic works that have no mention on this side yet. Stroker's Dracula, for instance. We could have Van Helsing, or Mina Harker on our hands. And since we got the Witch, we have a precedent for Dracula himself to cross.
Of course, that's one example of many.

We also have Medusa coming and mentions of Pygmalion, so myths aren't out the door either. And they don't really fit the qualifications of "literature" since their origins are religious in nature, specifically within oral tradition. BTW, most of these are from an American/British background as well. :D

That's right, I almost forgot about Medusa. Odds are other mythical creatures, or worse. This could be a disaster of biblical purporitons.

Ooh, Mr. Scarab! I just checked the therapist lady's blog! We both got replied to! Good work with the hinting and stuff! You made it subtle enough, and easy for her to accept! And she liked my Month Python idea! YAY!

Oh, whoops I forgot about the day thing. Odd considering I'm temporarily Pinkie Pie. Also, sorry Ms. Scarab! I think I read that about you yesterday, but I learned about all of this stuff yesterday. I will try to remember in the future. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.

Also, I'm going to try and compile data on when each character comes from. Maybe find a pattern.
