Troper Map
Posted: Mon Oct 15, 2012 5:53 pmIn order to facilitate our activities in the real world, I'm working on making a map that will contain all of our locations (to a generalized degree. We don't need to know your address, but county or city or some such place would be fine), so that if an Echo pops up, we can figure out who is closest to it, and thus who can retrieve it.

The above link will allow you to collaborate on this map, and edit it, although I believe you need a Google account to do so. Still, you can post your location here (or send it to me), and I will add it for you. I'll do my best to try and resolve issues, but I haven't worked with this feature of Google Maps before, so it'll be a little tricky, but manageable.
So, let's make this happen!
GUIDE TO DOING THIS WHICH I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF ORIGINALLY:
)If you don't have a Google account, post here and I'll get it added as soon as I can. If you do, good, go on ahead. I'd highly suggest getting a Google account on the principle that you get access to a bunch of awesome free tools, but if you're paranoid about Google's intentions or something, your choice.
)Open the link.
)Click the red Edit button on the right sidebar.
)Find your location, and right click on a spot approximately where you are (the more accurate you feel comfortable getting, the better).
)Select the "Add a Placemark" option. Put your username in the title, and any additional information you feel is relevant in the description.
)In the upper right hand corner, you can click on the marker to change it's shape and color. Leave the shape the same, but make it blue for members, red for Fictites, and yellow for Echos.
)Press "Done"
)On the right sidebar, hit "Save" and make sure it saves, then hit "Done".

Seriously though, I'm about ten minutes away from Sherlock's pad and a half hour away from the Queen's crib.
