Oh, and one more thing...

Oh, and one more thing...

I know this video is old, but I've been rewatching it and this is really bugging me.

What exactly does he mean by this?

Well, clearly he's taunting us. Either he's unwilling to tell us who he really is, or it's something he's incapable of explaining to us, possibly because our minds don't have the ability to understand it.

That was his active instantiation' answer to general distrust back then... And the one active now he did the AMA.

Having infinite personalities can justify anything, can't it? It's almost cheating...

Well the one in the AMA last night was surprisingly open,

I'm starting to wonder if their attitude simply comes down to an extreme case of being Not Good With People. I mean, they're not people (as in humans), those suits are apparantly their skin  , and so far as we know they can't create fiction on their own - that's purely a human thing. Maybe the reason we're getting so little useful info isn't out of a desire to be deceptive, but out of an inability to judge what is relevant and what isn't, and then put it aross in a way which DOESN'T sound creepy and mysterious.

Regarding the 'nice try'... could he be referring to a previous guess we made? He could even actually be trying to compliment us on our attempts to figure him out...

Well if I'm not good for leaving semi informative comments twenty minutes too late for them to actually be relevant, then what good am I?

It's like everybody here is just now figuring out what I've been thinking all along. He's an other worldly figure. He lives in a world very different than ours that follows different physical and moral laws. So naturally, he'd act differently then we're used to, but that doesn't mean he's a terrible or untrustworthy person. It would be wrong for us to judge him for always hiding his face, or concealing information, or making ridiculous demands in a creepy voice, in the same way it would be wrong to judge African tribal people for wearing practically no clothes or doing strange dances to summon rain. I know very little about African tribal people by the way.
If everyone would just agree with me, there would never be any problems.

Been saying this since the meta-verse model. I propose for now we go along with Mr. A. Currently what he wishes us to do is gather information, which is exactly what we want to do in the first place. Therefore, for now at least, our interests coincide.

We were making theories... He said they suck.
But according to Q&A, that's just because he does not know who they are, either.
Well, maybe A-Prime does. But he won't tell.

Well, to be fair, he never said they SUCK he just smirked and said nice try, given his latest responses to us in the AMA it is entirely possible the guy just doesn't know how to NOT sound threatening and/or ominous (Not that I trust the guy, just considering, he was really rather open with us in the AMA and I'm grateful.)

He revealed in th Q&A yesterday that his instanciations can be more or less important, depending on their number. The ones with less digits are more important.

Indeed. And that means both Echo Chamber and TWWF are VERY important to him.
(And he still hasn't answered how the instantiations with billion-digit numbers would look like. :) )

What is the 'this' of which you speak dear Victin?

Dude, those level instantations would probably clean the toilets... assuming they have toilets. Surely they have toilets SOMEWHERE...

The sentence was refering to itself. That's why it's so tiny.

He did say that one instantiation was terminated because "he clogged the toilet" though that may have been a metaphor, I don't know.

IKR? That whole session told me SO many useful things. Like that it's pointless to go steal stuff from their mini-fridge because they have nothing worth the trouble in it.

Right, and that you can apparantly pee straight down through the void. And that their form of digital communication kind of sucks. And that they cannot, alas fly.

It told us more about how Mister A's head works than about any of the problems we currently have, I think, but that was useful in itself.

I also speculate that, even though they probably can occupy any height in the void (they project the floor under themselves), they probably stick to a predefined one. No one would want to get peed on, or get hit by a dartboard somebody dropped a century ago.

Indeed. I suspect there's some sort of unwritten law amongst them: go too deep at your own risk, fellas.

Back on topic... I wodner if Mister A was genuinely trying to compliment us on our attempts at figuring out who he is, and is really just... bad at showing it? we seem to have learned a lot about his personality from the AMA, if nothing else, and he seems rather confused about... the logic of some things. Like how his not giving us information a lot of the time is attributed to him being too focussed on research, and maybe just not thinking that we'd NEED input or NEED to trust him. To him it was just... obvious.

I think that's all because, mind-wise, he is a Starfish Alien. I'm not sure what is the actual trope for that. His primary interest is information, and he is unaffected by any disasters in our realm (I would argue, but that's what he said).

Which is why he should create somebody to interface with us. I propose a cute Meganekko Rei Ayanami Expy. ;)
Now that I said it, there are 2 things we need to ask of him:
  1. whether he can create one, and
  2. whether WE can create one.
I think that would make our job a lot easier.
