True, although maybe that doesn't necessarily mean anything? We don’t even know where this guy came from, much less who (or what) he is. Maybe changing faces is a thing. I'm prepared to consider that the guy ain't actually human.

It's completely possible. Maybe he's what happens when real individual crosses over into fiction? Or maybe he was made like how our guardians were, but on a much bigger scale.
Just had a thought, when we saw the empty realm that he and his clones existed in at one point he stepped out of a screen to talk and then he just disappeared. What if Mr. A is the wall and the more cracks appear the harder it is for him to make himself into a human form. The walls has cracks in it and Mr. A is cracking up.
