... But did anyone else notice the "Desine iam nec mori" letter is a limerick? And would that have any significance? I mean, limericks and Latin, not exactly a common juxtaposition...

Oooh, THAT's what was so off-putting about it. Didn't figure that out.
I don't see how it's relevant, though. Don't forget that the Cabal tried to use different styles.

Still... somebody who uses rhymes in communication. Who uses rhymes in communication in fiction AND knows Latin?

Oh yeah... duh, from me there, I never thought.
Could be, but then he warned us about the four in the first place. Maybe soembody else from the Alice in Wonderland series... anybody else in there obsessed with limericks?

Maybe that's how he knew about them. He's met them.
And I'm not sure, possibly.

Hmm. Yeah, I don't think Cheshire's a good guess. Beyond that...an Irish character maybe? I have no clue.

...ignoring the spam post above...
I think we've already discussed the rhyming nature of that one back in the day. We considered it could be Cheshire, but by now we know it's not (though he did admit to sending the Welcome to Hogwarts letter). How do we know it's not? Well, his trolling session proves that a) the Cabal had no clue who he was and b) he's not TOTALLY evil (he did use it to give us their names).
Also, we know from the Pheeble chats that the VAST majority, if not all, of Joe's threatening letters were from the Cabal. Now that we know who the Cabal is, it's not really relevant for us to analyze the letters to figure out who wrote them.

In the book there's a scene with a dragon and a sea cow that is pretty... mindbending. and full of rhymes. a

The walrus and the carpenter? I uh, know the American Mcgee game better than the book.

*Reads that page you just liked her to* Man, I never realised Alice in Wonderland's ORIGINAL version was so... existential.

Hey, in some lights you could say the original is more Mind Fucky-ish than McGee can ever hope to achieve. Both are awesome, but the original is quite a trip too. (The good sort, for me at least.
