He speaks of "pulling" them back through the wall, so I think that resistance will not be a factor.

In which case the Cabal can do nothing.
If they can do something, then what is it?

WE KNOW THEY ARE SCHEMING, BUT WE DO NOT KNOW TO WHAT END. GIVEN THE CURRENT FACTORS, THERE SHOULD BE LITTLE THEY CAN DO.

CREATIVE WORKS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED BY AN INDIVIDUAL, NOT BY A COLLECTIVE. INDIVIDUAL VISION HAS ALWAYS PLAYED AN ESSENTIAL ROLE IN ART.

I mean what will happen if a character is personally unwilling to cross back, such as Romeo seems to be? Will we need to overcome some sort of resistance, or will their will not matter?

I need to know whether I have to start convincing characters to go along with this or not.

My questions:
  1. What about Romeo and Juliet? They seem to share their echo.
  2. How do we know which trope is applicable to the comic? For example, the Witch's one shows both a Personal Rain Cloud and Villainous BSOD.
  3. Are you going to announce when we get enough echoes for a character? Do we have enough for anyone?
  4. From what I see, am I correct that Cinderella's disappearance was your doing? If so, who was the one accompanying her? (And please don't tell me that "Happily Ever After" was sufficient fiction for her. =D )
  5. Considering that the Cabal doesn't post their locations, how are we going to find their echoes?
  6. ...who wrote the fiction for your experiments? :?

1. WE EXPECT ROMEO & JULIET TO BE REFICTIONALIZED MOST EFFECTIVELY IF DONE SIMULTANEOUSLY. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE, NO OTHER PAIRS LIKE THIS EXIST.
2. USE YOUR BEST JUDGMENT.
3. WE WILL MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS WHEN SUFFICIENT ECHOES HAVE BEEN ANALYZED. FINDING THE ECHOES REMAINS YOUR TOP PRIORITY.
4. ONE OF OUR AGENTS REFICTIONALIZED CINDERELLA. THE DETECTIVE FOUND THE LAST PAGE OF HIS FICTION. HE HAS RETIRED FROM OUR SERVICE. CREATIVE DIFFERENCES.
5. THE CABAL MAY HAVE OBSCURED THEIR TRAIL. WE WILL FIND A WAY TO FIND THEIR ECHOES NEVERTHELESS.
6. ONE OF OUR AGENTS. HE IS OF NO FURTHER CONSEQUENCE. ALSO, NOT A GREAT WRITER.

So THAT'S why you weren't concerned about Cinderella!

And we have a strategy now! Although... you said we can give them a happy ending, would that by any chance protect them against whatever eventually HAPPENS to them in their universe?

(Okay so that makes the Black Knight RP, this aaaand Nanowrimo that I have to do this month... craaaaaaap it's a good job I like writing.)

How big do these stories have to be? Any particular word limit or basemark?

Can you fictionalise real people? (Although they are kind of fictional already...)

Are we writing from their perspective here, in the modern world, being transported back, or from their home?

INCLUDING PEOPLE FROM THIS WORLD WILL WEAKEN THE EFFICIENCY OF THE CREATIVE WORK IN REFICTIONALIZING THE TARGET CHARACTERS.

YOU SHOULD WRITE A STORY THAT FEATURES THEM, AND THE RELATED TROPES, IN THEIR ORIGINAL SETTING -- BE THAT OZ, VERONA, OR WONDERLAND. WHERE THEY ARE ALONG THEIR PERSONAL TIMELINE IS UP TO YOU.

Soooo if we wanted to write Romeo and Juliet as very young children in Verona, meeting, even if they don't recall it later, that'd be cool?

Randon thought...
Do we get to read the Refics for Cindy and the others? Surely it must be written somewhere as proof of existence and not as a headcanon kind of thing, right?

Wait a minute. Why was only the last page there? Did someone (that handsome stranger, perhaps) make off with the rest?
Why are we even arguing about a dead fictional dude and hypothetical ninjas?

When it comes time to write the Cabal stories, we won't need to give them happy endings as well, do we? Also, is killing them in their stories acceptable?

I want to give Moriarty a happy ending though. (Don Juan's stupid, Morgana's manipulative and the Phantom's boring. You can kill them as much as you like)

Don't worry. It'll work as the Wall Emergencies. You can write a happy ending for Moriarty. You'll just have to out-write all of us to get chosen. :)
If you manage to do that, well, we won't be able to complain will we?

Wellll them knowing that we plan to kill all the ones we don't like horribly probably isn't going to stand us in good favour with the Cabal... or anyone else we have to send back, for that matter :?

Have we ever been in good favor with the Cabal? Do we want to be? As for everyone else, they should take this as a warning not to join the Cabal.

...Sorry if I sound rude here, but you're impyling it's okay to use our powers as a threat against anyone who might join the Cabal?

We have absolutely NO good reason to threaten most of these people. Romeo, Juliet, Peter, Adam, Holmes, Poirot... they have done us NO harm at all, some ofthem have even benefitted people in this world. Excluding the risk of worldly collapse, this world is BETTER for havinga Poirot and a Holmes around, there are real people who can attest to that. Even the Wicked Witch has been pretty harmless. We can't go throwing around our ability like that.
