On the subject of the plague doctor(s) (there might have been two of them) I really don't think they are planning any great disaster. Sure they look scary and all but one was seen walking his dog, the (possible other) was seen sitting down and even gave a polite wave. So I don't think they/it is the same one from the Fear Mythos.

Well the Plague Doctors, scary though they seemed, were the good guys in reality, trying to help people who were pretty much without hope.

I'm guessing they're from seriously old texts. Nostradamus may have talked about them, if the Other Wiki is to be believed, and who knows how often they showed up in long lost fictions at the time they were walking around. The plague must surely have inspired some horror stories...

Does anybody know of any older, fictional texts where they were mentioned?

Be that as it may... why would Slenderman show up at a wedding in the first place? Isn't he meant to be connected with children? I mean, I can't say what ELSE it could be, but...

You know, I don't remember seeing the flower girl or the ring bearer in that wedding video.

In all seriousness, I don't think it's Slenderman. For one thing, his proportions are too normal, rather than looking like a human that ran through a taffy pull. Also, there wasn't really any distortion on the tape. Generally, Slenderman causes distortion when the camera gets remotely near him, let alone when it puts him center frame, like it does in some of those shots.

I think I said this on another post but my view is that he is The Invisible Man, he fits in appearance and matches the same criteria of the other characters that have come through.

The face/mask would have looked more skull-like, though. I don't think it's the umbrella-carrying Grim Reaper, either.

Yeah umbrellas just don't have the right tone of despair that you get from weilding a sythe at everything.

To rerail my own almost derail of the topic (try saying that three times fast) what about one of the creatures that I'm sure must have inspired the No Face in Spirited Away? I don't recall the inspiration for them exactly, but it could be a vaguely simialr idea...

The ones we guessed: Don Juan, Morgana LeFey (from the King Arthur legends), Moriarty and Phantom of the Opera

We don't know who the members of the Cabal are quite yet. We suspect Morgana, the Phantom, Don Juan, and some people say Moriarty, but we are not sure yet.

Which one? And I'm still not sure about Moriarty... They did a lot a while back to get us to STOP guessing Moriarty...

K hadn't seen that yet. Someone get over to his character page and add some epicly awesome trope for that stunt.

I solved the riddle he hid in the chatlog "thecat" (see the useful links page)
BTW, Dryu also helped: he saw that it wasn't only the FIRST letters, but also all capitalized letters, and the time in between the Cat's posts. The entire solution for the riddle is in the cat's thread of discussion about his tweets.
