Finding proof of reality's imminent collapse

Moved this thread from the letter compilation thread.
Dryunya

You know, up untill now I have remained a lurker- i beleaved that my knowladge of storytelling and metagaming was far too poor for me to be of help. But after this, I feel the need to bring something up- the burden of proof. Specificly, the burden of proof regarding the effects of the fictionals on our reality.

Eric claims that the fictionals don't tear at reality's fabric, Mr. A. claims they do. The burden of proof belongs to the one making the extrordinary claim. Eric claims that nothing is happening to reality. His claim is ordinary. Mr. A. claims that reality is being torn at. His claim is Extrordinary. Therefore, the burden of proof falls on Mister Administrator.

As of yet, no concrete proof of reality being threateaned by the ficionals has been given. perhaps MR. A. simply did not expect questioning that fact necessary and thus didn't bother to provide evidence. Whatever the reason, now, it IS necessary. To be truthful, I DEMAND to see proof of the fictional's presence tearing at our reality. As I lack the capability to use twitter, I politely request my fellow tropers/metaguards to place a request for proof themselves.

If convincing proof is given, I will fully support refictionalization efforts. If proof is NOT given however, I will want to see all nonwilling refictionalization efforts stopped. I do NOT care HOW complex that proof is. i do NOT care if it has more mathematics than quantum mechanics. I simply demand proof.

Edited due to my hasty response before.
Paradise, while I respect your position-- and, as a newcomer, I suppose you can't be expected to know that this has been discussed before, and-- against my better judgement-- Mr. Administrator has been pressed for proof (which he has provided, in the form of the echoes)-- your tone is overtly confrontational, and as a newcomer, I find it difficult to determine what spirit this should be taken in.

Please understand, however, that this thread is dedicated to opening dialogue with the fictionals, to heal the rift between the Cabal and Mr. A, between the Metaguards who support the Cabal and those who support Mr. A.
As such, this is not the appropriate forum for your demands, even were they phrased in a more polite manner.

I don't believe in Orwellian moderation, so I'm asking YOU, not a moderator, to edit your post and take your requests to a more appropriate thread.
Although I DO plan, in the near future, to request that a moderator delete from this thread ALL posts not directly related to opening dialogue between the Metaguards, Mr. Administrator, and the fictionals.

I would like to point out that ERIK is the one with the extraordinary claim. We are already fully aware that the fictionals DO affect reality. There would be no echoes otherwise. Therefore, Erik is making a claim against the evidence, and Mr. A's claim lines up with what we are seeing and what we know.

Very well then. I apologise for my faulty understanding of things and for creating that long winded post. I won't bring up the subject again unless something major happens that requires revising our views.

Not a problem. I think, for the moment, the plan is to attempt to prove Mr. A wrong in the same way you experiment on a scientific theory. Then we just see how the claims hold up. However, Mr. A still has the evidence. For now. Erik's arguments against have only just begun.

I didn't think he was all that confrontational. I've definitely been a much bigger jerk at least once or twice this game. Hey there, new guy! Welcome to the game.

And actually, he raises an interesting point about Burden of Proof. There is evidence that there is some effect, true, but other than the actual echoes themselves (which don't seem to do much) there doesn't seem much to justify the grander prediction of THE END OF ALL REALITY.

The only thing we have to do is Destroy all lovecraftian beasts If reality and fiction are able to co-exist.

There are no lovecraftian beasts. We already have Word Of God that all POIs are accounted for.

I'm completely relieved, but does that mean that all cross-able fictionals have appeared?

Actually, I think that from now on, the Metaguards will be able to stop anyone.

AN OPEN REQUEST TO MODERATORS:
Can you please delete all posts (including this one) from this thread that do not DIRECTLY relate to opening dialogue between us, Mr. A, and the fictionals?
It's getting derailed fast.

Attempting to rerail.

Okay so according to the witch, they can't actively write their own fiction. Which makes sense, I guess. If they can't read about themselves then then can't do so even when it's THEM doing the writing (which is a shame because now the Witch can never write an autobiography after she's president, I had a blurb planned for that and everything...)

Seriously, though, the idea that OTHER fictionals could write about them may still stand... of course even assuming that works, do we trust them all enough to be ABLE to write convincing fiction about each other? I somehow do not trust the witch to write a fair and impartial story about, say, Erik.

They also forget what they write. According to MR. Cake. Could you confirm it with the Witch, Scarab, please?

I can ask, but I don't think I'll get a response. I think it's more than likely this is the case, anyway.

Deleting the posts would be a waste. You can't just get rid of peoples thoughts that they put here because you started the topic =P

I'd split the topic instead. Also:

I think the stories only fall apart if they are fictional. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to see any of their blog posts.

Wait a second, what does this mean for ADAM'S PLAY? That seems pretty autobiographical to me. If he uses his name in it at any point...

...maybe it's not INTENDED to be autobiographical?
If this comes down to intention... that is sooooooo dumb.

Waka-- you're right, I didn't mean just delete them Orwell style, just prune them from *this* thread for being off-topic.

Though, to be honest, it doesn't matter at this point; we might as well move this whole thread to offtopic for the good it would do.
I keep trying to come up with a post for this thread in light of the Witch's experimental data, but every time I try, the BSOD just sets in again. I mean, what's the point? If Failure is the Only Option, why bother opening a dialogue that's just going to drive us apart?

I have the feeling Fiction merging with reality is inevitable. But we should keep any fictional's in this world while other metaguards and Mr.A hold up the fabric of reality. ITS GENIUS! otherwise there would be a 1% chance of Cthulhu coming from the fiction/reality hole. In which should never happen

Yeah, you obviously don't realize it's very likely that the presence of fictionals in this world with obliterate reality...
