Anti-Cthulhu music

Postby Qara-Xuan Zenith on Sat Dec 15, 2012 11:39 pm

Well, Mr. A's put out the call for more Wall-defending-related music to fuel the Cthulhu app, and since that thread's a little occupied with the suicide-volunteer-declarations, I figured it could use its own thread.

To start off, I'll re-dump my Cthulhu song, with lyrics attached: audio
lyrics

Aaaand here's that borderline example, which is a little more meta and, well, I'd intended to save it for once things were wrapped up. But if it can help, then great: audio
lyrics
It's to the tune of Ninja Ropes, from Commentary! The Musical.

For both these songs (and any others I might upload)-- I recognize that my singing is terrible. But there is a greater good at play here. Anyone who wants to take what I've got and play around with it, or record yourself singing the same, you are MORE than welcome to do so.
Why are we even arguing about a dead fictional dude and hypothetical ninjas?

If someone can give me lyrics, I would be willing to sing (assuming I know the tune).

One, your singing isn't terrible

Two, can I put this together with the music in audacity?

Okay, here's another one. To the tune of "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. It... seemed appropriate.

I won't have the opportunity to record for a while, but here are the lyrics if anyone else wants to. Also feel free to play around with the words if you can make it better-- I did this in a bit of a rush.

Here's one, based off of the dwarves' song in The Hobbit (the "misty mountains" one). I don't have the time to hunt down audio right now, but I'll try and do that, and record, soon.

O’er the world or so the echoes told
With stories deep and canon old
We must not fall ere break of wall
To save the world and hope uphold

The metaguards, a motley lot,
Each their own skills and arts they brought
In stories deep, where darkness sleeps,
Their words changed worlds, and spurred their hearts

For Mr. A and fictites crossed
To guard the world and fear accost
They shaped and wrought, and tropes they caught
To weave in tales to help the lost

In Sweeney Todd’s refic they massed
The hope from love, for Pan they cast
A youthful laugh, on Don’s behalf
They crafted true valor at last

O’er the world or so the echoes told
With stories deep and canon old
We must not fall ere break of wall
To save the world and hope uphold

Profiles they built there for themselves
And coffee rooms, where no law dwells
They played their games while fanning flames
Of friendships stronger far than spells

The call came down from Mr. A
Cthulhu’s here, don’t turn away
Take up your arms, and sound the alarms
Take heart in song and don’t give way

Music is chiming strong and bright
The songs are ringing through the night
Through stories clear and songs sincere
We lend our aid to the meta-knight

The fourth wall trembled with the strain
Yet strength came forth no one could feign
Come what may, we’ll save the day
No efforts will be made in vain

O’er the world or so the echoes told
With stories deep and canon old
We will not fall ere break of wall
To save the world and life uphold

Let me add to this with a retelling of the YuGiOh Dubbed Soundtrack song No Matter What . Because you know, childrens card games are badass as hell.

My recording can be found here.

Lyrics are here.

Original audio can be found here.

...I couldn't have picked an easier song, could I? :x

I could try to write my own (despite my rather poor musical talent) but really why should I when good old Fred already made the best song for this kind of situation we could hope for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBOvOatP ... 6929409842

...Oh pick the song that makes me CRY why don't you.

To those who don't know, Mercury recorded that song in the late stages of the disease that killed him. he was really ill by the time they got to the studio to record.

I believe his exact choice of words when they questioned his strength in the studio were 'I'll do it, darling.'

He then proceeded to belt out the same version of the song we're listening to today complete with high notes. If that doesn't deserve all the limes in the world, then I don't bloody know what does.

Hey don't be insensitive. some of us here in the states arent old enough to drink yet. because apparently not being able to buy alcohol until were 21 stops us from paying older friends to get it for us.

And thus, the Metaguard with the worst singing voice sung. Somebody else's song. Badly.

I tried, OK.

...I really can not sing. Regardless, this is me trying to help, and not lurking for once.

So, while I was waiting for my exam to start today, I wrote three more songs. One of them I'm going to hold off on because there's one part that depends on who's going, and one of them I'm going to have to hold off on due to... technical difficulties (It Makes Sense In Context), but here's the third, to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's "America": (I put Ed's name in as a placeholder, but you can really replace it with any two-syllable name)

EDIT: Audio

Lyrics:

Let us be Metaguards,
We'll save the Fourth Wall together
I've got some Walls of Text here in my bag
So we got caught up on tvtropes
And made forum accounts
And walked off to look for A Bright White Void

Edward I said as we searched for an Echo for Morgan,
"Jennifer seems like a dream to me now
It took me four days to write Don a refic
I've come to look for A Bright White Void"

Laughing in the chat
Playing games with our voices
He said, "I think that Guest17 guy's a GM"
I said, "Be careful, I think he might really be Batman"

"Toss me a Wall Piece, please,
I think there's one in Seattle"
"We scanned the last one an hour ago"
So I wrote a Cthulhu fic
He composed a song
And Dilly outwrote all the rest again.

"Edward I'm lost," I said,
Though he was noveltramming
"I'm empty and aching and I don't know why"
Counting the Guards who signed up to slay Cthulhu
They've all come to look for A Bright White Void
All come to look for A Bright White Void...

Free-Style Time!

It starts off on our favorite website,
Then it gets weird. But that's all right.
A message from our Administrator!
Now's the point the story gets greater!

We were told the wall was cracking.
Some evil dude was prob'ly cackling.
This guy named Joe was our only lead.
We rose to the occasion to do the deed!

We started looking 'round,
for some clues.
We wanted to stop this!
This is news!

We discovered new fictites,
We started to get tight,
We know the outcome.
It's gonna be all right!

We sent back Holmes.
We sent back Peter.
Morgan Le Fay's mad,
But we don't heed 'er!

Now we're at the end,
And we're about to win.
But we got one more thing to do,
We gotta take out ol' Cthulu!

Let me tell you somethin' that you might like.
We're gonna tell him to take a hike.
We're gonna beat him 'til he's bright red.
We're gonna beat him. That's what I said!

When he breaks through,
This is what he'll see!
An army of tropers!
Including you and me!

He'll turn tail and run,
If he knows what's good!
And to be honest,
He probably should!

A little rough I know, but I literally came up with the lyrics on the spot. Not set to the tune of anything in particular.
Flames of Chaos, Flames of Order. Doesn't matter, I have to run from Slendy.

Oh, hell with waiting. This is what I couldn't record earlier today, and couldn't post without recording, because, well, yeah.

Audio

Lyrics:
Come on, we're Metaguards
We can win this thing, I know
Don't give up when the end's in sight
Let's have another go
We'll fix the Wall

We've got the strength of Don Quixote
We've got the wits of Sherlock Holmes
And between us we know all the tropes and tricks from all the tomes

Come on, we're Metaguards
We can win this thing, I know
Don't give up now, we're almost there
Let's have another go
We'll fix the Wall

I hear that Morgan's got her magic
Now let's get Cheshire back his grin
Together as a tram there is no way that we won't win

Come on, we're Metaguards
We can win this thing, I know
Don't give up when the end's in sight
Let's have another go

Come on, we're Metaguards
And with elephants comes next
Whoever goes to fight won't go to fight alone.
We're all behind you and Cthulhu's gonna pay
And rest assured, we'll bring you back here, come what may.

...This is what happens when I'm studying till 2 in the morning. I stay up for an extra hour to record bad music.

This is to the tune of "Beelzeboss" from Tenacious D, but is a WIP.

There's just no way
That we can win,
It is an epic beast.
It breaks the wall because it's just too powerful.

Listen, all of you!
It's gonna break reality!
It's gonna wipe out history!
Unless we break this massive monster into pieces!

Metaguards.
We've been through so much shit.
Reficked lots of characters, with our wit!
Now it's time to take Cthulhu dowwwwwn!

C'mon guys, now it's time to blow doors down!
I hear you friends, now it's time to blow doors down!
Light up the wall, cause it's time for a showdown!
We'll beat him back now and then send him downtown!

Now it's time to blow Cthulhu down!
(He's gonna kill us if we do not blow doors down!)
C'mon guys now it's time to blow doors down!
WE'RE READY! It's time for a smackdown!

Hey you monster! Cthulhu-boss!
We know your weakness! Our rockin' sauce!
We'll save the wall now, and blow your mind!
We will defeat you! For all mankind!

You destroy sanity?
We're all insane!
You are Cthulhu?
We're Metaguards! (x17)
Not a distress call. Honest.
