Edit: Here's the audio.

To the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's The Boxer:

I am just a nerd and though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocketful of blogs such are The Wall Will Fall
All fun and games
Till we heard one of us fights Cthulhu and might die, or so Joe claims

When I left my Real Life family I was no more than a geek
In the company of strangers
In the mayhem of the megathread on tvtropes
Then I delurked
I sent Mr. A my address so he'd mail me some spam
Little knowing it would make me who I am

Lai la lai...

Using just my paranoia I came looking for a plot
But I got red herrings
Till the Cabal came by and hacked the Watch the Footage site
I do admit
There were times I got so frustrated that I almost ragequit
Oh, but I'm glad I stayed

Now I'm writing up some refics and I'm wishing I could go
Go along
With the Metaguard who's going to face Cthulhu down
Leading him
To go home

In the clearing stands a Meta-Knight, a troper by his trade
And his smartphone app is powered
By every song we wrote him and we sang him till he cried out
In his triumph and his strength:
"Cthulhu's leaving, Cthulhu's leaving,
And the Fourth Wall still remains..."

Lai la lai...

I wrote this a while back... I held off on posting, in case I had to change the name in the lyrics, but I... kind of wrote it with the right person in mind. I want to re-record the audio, since I did it at 3 in the morning, whispering, listening to audio on a different key, in a freezing garage, but I want this up as a placeholder now, no matter how bad I sound.

To the tune of All I Ever Wanted, from Prince of Egypt:

audio

Lyrics:

Gleaming in the chatroom,
Brightly-coloured names beside my own
All I ever wanted,
Rambles in Off-Topic,
Graceful posts that say: you're not alone
All I ever wanted,
This is my home.
With the mods, admins, and fictites,
Oh so noble oh so strong
Now I am home
Here among the tropers and the gamers
I belong
And if anybody doubts it--
They couldn't be more wrong.

I am a crazy Guard of Meta
Well-versed in all the nerdiness that's shown
All over tvtropes
Surely this is all I ever wanted
All I ever wanted
All I ever wanted

This is your home, Adell
Here Mr. A brought you,
And it's here he surely meant
To be your home
Know we all support you
And that we won't be content
Till you return from slaying Cthulhu
Like the hero that we sent.

Adell, if you get yourself killed, I will never talk to you again. Good thing you're not going to, because I like to talk.

I want to have some kind of audio up for my Hobbit song at least, so here're my attempts (both a capella).
One to something reminiscent of the movie's music, and one to tune that I had imagined before hearing the movie's version.

Ack! She's hugging me!

Someone make a song called that right now.

I'm really sorry guys. I know I promised to sing, but with this many songs and this few singers, it's gonna be really awkward >.<

Good luck though, this is sure to help

Here's another one, to the tune of The Perfect Nanny from Mary Poppins. You know what? I'm not even going to keep putting in the disclaimers about my recording. It's an audio recording. With elephants.

Audio

Lyrics:

If you want this choice position
Have a nerdy disposition
Know your tropes, fight storms
Play games, all forms

You must be wise, you must be witty
Join the tram and sing a ditty
Scan us some echoes on nearby streets
Read blogs, send tweets.

Never doubt we can win
Don't think too hard about Mr. A's skin
Help put out Coffee Room fires
And never speak of sparklepires

Cthulhu won't cross and try eat us
He will never get a chance to beat us:
Adell slew a hurricane
And made it cry
He's got Mod Override
And he can't die
Hurry, Cthulhu!
Time to go
Sincerely,
Metaguards and co.

Also, I edited the now-recorded audio for America into that post.

*Adores this*

So this was actually one of my fic entries for Cthulhu sooo I'm not sure it fits here but I actually got permission from the song's writers to use it, so it seemed a shame not to do something with it

Bonsus' song is beautiful and bonsus and Tear-Jerker-y and gave me chills and I heart her forever and ever and ever.

On a lighter note, I made THIS... to the tune of "Just Leave Everything To Me" from Hello Dolly.

Audio

Lyrics:

CHORUS:
Call on Delly!
He's the Meta-Knight we recommend
Just mention you're annoyed by a spambot's posts
And he'll ban them all
Don’t forget those statue letters and
He'll scan them all.
Call on Delly

Dolly:
We have always been a tram of guards who gambit things,
for the pleasure--and the profit--it derives.
We have always been a tram of guards who gambit things,
like fictionals and instantiations and lives.

If you want #RiddleTime on Twitter, or a video with Pan in glitter:
Just leave everything to us.
If you want Don Q inspected, or to see the Witch elected:
Just leave everything to us.
If you want Frankenstein's monster dated, or see Mr. A berated,
...Did Quixote just attack a bus?
If you have cyphers for decoding, blogs and tweets and posts for quoting:
We'll arrange for making all arrangements
Just leave everything to us.

If you want your ego polished, doubts removed and qualms demolished:
Just leave everything to us.
Awkward social interactions, manipulation of all factions:
Just leave everything to us.
If you want Romeo to grow up, or M&M to make you throw up
With their rather squicky lust.
If you want Poirot to solve his cases, or put Silver through his paces:
We'll proceed to plan the whole procedure
Just leave everything to us.

Mr. A: Where to, Delly?
Adell: A short drive away, to handle a highly personal matter for
Cthulhu the Old One, the well-known, Wall-threatening, Eldritch Abomination.
Mr. A: Gonna defeat him single-handed, Delly?
Adell: Why, Mr. Administrator, whatever put such a preposterous idea into my head--your head!

If you like Gulliver handwritten, think Metaneko's one mad kitten:
Just leave everything to us.
If you want Don Juan arrested, or Moriarty to be bested:
Just leave everything to us.
If you want an email from Morgana, or to send Alaska a banana,
in order to gain Erik's trust.
If you want some chatroom lol'ing, while we keep the Wall from falling--
Don't be ashamed guys,
Life is full of gambits, and we make 'em!

We'll discretely use our own discretion
We'll arrange for making all arrangements
We'll proceed to plan the whole procedure
Just leave everything to us!

EDIT: Adell and Sicon, if you see this today, Bonsus Girl and I want you to record the spoken lines in the middle of this as yourself and Mr. A respectively, and either upload them here or email them to her. Please and thank you.

Oh, and new post because new song. This one's based on Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water.

audio

Lyrics:

When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in our eyes
The Wall won't fall

We're on your side
When times get rough
And echoes can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're fighting Cthulhu
When evening falls so hard
We will sing for you

We'll take your part
When darkness comes
And the Wall's cracked all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on Meta-Knight,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All our dreams are on their way

See how they shine
If you need a tram
We're sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
We will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
We will ease your mind

Oh, and my current excuse for the off-key-ness is the bad cold I woke up with today, which is playing havoc with my throat.

Using S_o_S's lyrics, this is what you get.

:P It's not good. But that's just my opinion.
Why should we do the right thing?
-Well... because it's the right thing to do, there's no other good reason.

Am I a bad guy trying to be good, or a good guy trying to convince himself that he's not the bad guy?

One more song, because Dr. Horrible is awesome. This one's to the tune of My Freeze Ray.

audio

Lyrics:

Metaguards
On a tram
Writing things
Grumbling
Wanna say
Love your fic
Here I go
Mumbling
With my smartphone I will save the world
With my smartphone I will
Use the songs to fight Cthulhu and
Tell you how
How you make
Make me feel
What’s the phrase?
A family
Fitting in
We belong
With elephants
With my smartphone I will save the Wall
It’s not an echo or a Wall Piece
That’s all Mr. A
I just think I need the chance to say
Adell's the guy to make it real
Before him the Old One will kneel
He’ll bend the void to our will
And he’ll make time stand still
That’s the plan
Save the world
As a tram
Any day
Love your fic

What?

No – I… love... uh... Rick..
With elephants
With my smartphone I will stop
Why are we even arguing about a dead fictional dude and hypothetical ninjas?

Okay so this was sent off to Mister A last night before the deadline, but we haven't uploaded it here yet sooo, yeah. The lyrics are by Qara, song sung by me (I would like it on record that I cannot compete with Barbara Striezand, (I mean, I'm decent, but she's STRIEZAND for goodness sakes), aaand Adell and Mimsy were good enough to put in the talking part in the middle. Enjoy
